Question about Mitsubishi Mr. Slim MXZ30TN Air Conditioner

Clicking from Condenser

We own three 3-zone condenser units. Unit 1 stopped working three weeks ago and the condenser was clicking. Repair man came out and said it was a circuit board--week later he replaced the board and that wasn't it. Then he wanted to change ALL the circuit boards--we called in a Diamond dealer. The night before the Diamond dealer(DD) came, Unit 2 stopped with the same exact problem (this is about a 2 weeks after unit 1 stopped working. DD fixed both units by adding freon. That worked, until Unit 2 stopped again at 11 pm that same night with the same clicking condenser. DD came out two days later and emptied the entire freon out of Unit 2 and replaced it with new freon--A LOT of money. Worked again until 11pm and than stopped with the clicking. Then this afternoon Unit 1 went out AGAIN with the clicking sound from condenser. $675 in "repair" bills later we still have two of our condensers broken and we are hot here in Florida. PLEASE HELP :-(

Re: Clicking from Condenser

I would have to say it's your fan going out, also if the units aren't fixed the the DD should come out and fix it for free since it wasn't done the first time. I would take a look at it but I don't know where in florida you are. I'm in highlands county. If your close enough I could come take a look. If there's clicking coming from your condenser then it's one of two things, the compressor or the fan. hopefully the fan. let me know.

GE AEH10AMG1 was working fine a week ago. Plugged it into the same socket yesterday, and the breaker in the plug popped, and it keeps popping when we try to plug in the unit.

You have a direct short in the A/C unit probably at the compressor or your condenser fan motor. You can disconnect one component at a time to identify where it is shorting. turn power off unwire condenser fan motor secure wires so they dont touch anything plug unit in if it still pops breaker your compressor is probably bad.

Hi, the tech should have been able to figure the stat out with out a manual to see why the condenser is shutting off at 1:00 P.M. This is unusual for this to happen, unless it was winter and this is a heat-pump going into defrost, but just the fan would shut down. Does this unit have a box on it that was installed by your electric company that shuts the unit off during high peak conditions in the summer? This would cause it to shut down at the same time everyday. If not, it would have to be something in the thermostat that is set for it to shut off at that time. It still does not make since, as it would shut both the indoor and outdoor unit off, not just the condenser. Are you saying that just the condenser fan motor is shutting off, but the compressor continues to run until it shuts off on high head pressure when the fan stops, or does the complete outdoor unit shut down fan, compressor and all at that time??. It sounds to me like this outdoor unit has a time delay relay that has a fault in it may be shutting it off at this time daily? Please let me know if its just the condenser fan motor that shuts off, or if the complete unit is shutting off all together, this will help .

Water leaking at front of condensor ( inside)unit.

sounds like there might be a blockage in the condensate pan that is not letting all the water drain through the condensate line. if you can access this area try to clean all the debris out

Voltage 1phase or 3 phase 240 volts BTUs M# 585epo36o75

Looking at the model number, it appears to be a 3 ton. (36,000 btu) Most all residential units are single phase and most all commercial are 3 phase. One way to tell, look to see if the compressor has a capacitor. 3 phase never use capacitors on the compressors as they are not needed. Some residential units have a "Dual" capacitor. That is, it has 3 terminals, 1 common, 1 for condenser fan motor, and 1 for the compressor. Also, this info should be printed on the unit's lable.
Good Luck and hope this helps.
