Question about Panasonic SC-HT670 System

1 Answer

Position Memory..... Does anyone know how you can clear up any Position memories on the unit without having to put the original movie back in. I have searched through my entire library of dvd's and I can't find the movies that I had set the memories to. Would really like to clear them out so I can actually use more than one Position memory slot.

Re: Position Memory.....

Try this to reset unit. Hold "STOP" button on the player and then press "10" on the remote.

try using a CD cleaner disk..

How old is the system?
DO CDs work when you try them?
Put a disk in... remembering the position it was in..
Then try to play the disk...
Eject if it does not play and look to see if it has moved to a different position...
If not, there is a motor problem or the laser is not sensing the disk being there.

Have you ever opened up the main box of the system?
Has anyone else been inside it?

If yes, then maybe it is time to do it again to observe if there is movement of the laser pickup..

Dear Sir How to play back a movie which I saw before from 2 months & I do not have the cd . If it was saved in the dvd memory , how can I see it again .

DVD players do not save movies. It wold have to have a hard drive like a computer to do that. Only item that saves movies are called DVR's +digital video recorders. But they only record live TV brodcasts.

No matter what i put in for a DVD, brand new, it skips constantly. i've put in a cleaner to clean the lens and it took abut a hr to get the dvd player to read the disc, kept saying NO DISC when clearly...

The cleaner cds are worthless and do nothing, infact I have seen damage to laser lenses from these cleaners. They should not even be sold. Your answer is to go to the tips and read my tip on proper cleaning of CDs and DVDs. The url is I just posted this today. Let me know if it helps you.

The protect indication is because of a fault detected in the amplifier section. If this appeared occasionally before and cleared itself, it suggests bad connections. If you know how to solder, open up the unit and resolder any connections that appear grainy or have rings. That may solve the problem.

Choppy result from playing DIVX via USB Direct connection.

Try a DivX movie from a disc, memory sticks are not very fast, they are just convenient.

Remove all power from the unit. Let it sit a few minuets. Plug it back into the wall outlet. This should resolve the problem.
Put the dvd into the unit that you were having problems with, and try and play it. If it works - everything is ok. If not - try repeating the process 2 to 3 more times. What is going on here is the Unit automatically assigned a regional list in its memory. Sometimes this happens during an AC power surge (noise) on the line. This can corrupt the macienes internal memory. Bypulling the plug you allow the internal circuitry (typically some capacitors) to discharge. After this the unit will re-set & the error will go away.

Unknown disc error

You need to clean the reading head. When doing this you need to be very careful about static electricity. And never run the unit with anything more than the lid off.
First there are 3 screws on each side that take a side cover off.
Second there are 2 more screws that hold the lid on. Once the screws are removed lift the back of the lid first and tilt forward to clear the front switches.
Third; Remove the top of the DVD unit, to do this there are two screws and two tabs that hold the top on the DVD unit.
Fourth; To clean I used a vacum, but you can use canned air. But be very careful. These are very delicate parts.
Do not let the vacum touch any of the electronic parts. Do not do this with the unit plugged in. Before you test the Player put the top of the DVD unit back on. You can leave the main lid off at this point.

Good luck,
