Not able to tune

Mostly likely you can purchase a "universal" remote control to replace the missing remote control. You didn't provide the make or model of the TV, but this works 99% of the time.

I just received a Coby TFTV992 9" portable TV. I'm trying to tune the TV channels without success.

1st click the "mode" button on the TV or remote then use the vol. up and down buttons to scroll around until you get to DTV mode then press "enter" on the remote you should get a message "please run channel auto scan" . click "Menu" on the remote the "Picture" screen will come up, keep clicking the vol. up button to scroll past "Audio" then "Setup" then to "Channel" then use the CH up or down buttons to scroll to "Air" click OK , then use the CH down button to scroll to "Scan all channels" then click the vol. up button. it then should start scanning, FYI you have to be fast!

Tune in channels

Switch TV on
Press “MENU” on remote until 3 blue arrows appear
Press “VOLUME” keys to tune up or down (shown on blue bar)
When required programme is tuned, input required Channel number (appears on 2 green lines at top) e.g. 02 or 14
Carry on tuning and allocating channel numbers
Select “MENU” to clear or wait until it clears by itself
Channels should now be tuned to allocated numbers

New remote control

Some remotes are proprietary to that set and the universals won't work. You should try and find one for your specific set. No code is necessary for the right remote they are default for you set. goggle tv remotes with your model number and you should find one. problem is most cost from $40 to $80

Adding a channel to TEAC television

Hi I had the same problem so I bought a cheap universal remote controller and tuned into this model.
Once it is done, press a number on the remote controller and you can start to tune manually.

I do not know about the solution for AV channel.
