If your shredder plug has a fuse I would check that first, it may have blown if you turned it on again while it was wet
What I personally would do is take the shredder part and run it under a tap to clean of any coffee residue then shake it dry before putting it into a warm dry place like an airing cupboard for a 3 or 4 days to ensure it is completely dry before trying it again.
If it still doesnt work

Darn BlackBerry posted before I was ready. If it still doesn't work open it up and see if you can find any other fuse inside it to check or replace.

Before rinsing it though I would leave for a couple of hours after its last switch have on to try to allow any capacitors inside to leak away any residual charge. Anyway that's what "I" would do. - Otherwise you could try claiming for coffee spills if it's still under guarantee. Good luck with that!

    Ignore "have" after "switch", sorry.

Spilled coffee on D600 notebook, power supply

Unfortunetly that sounds like it may have been enough to cause fatal damage. If it was plugged in or running then it most likley caused an electrical short . If it wasn't powered you may have just killed the keyboard.

I've tried to fix several laptops broight in that had coffee, beer, soda, and water spilled on them. Everyone turned out to be non repairable. The worst one was only 3 days old and that was coffee and considered user abuse which meant no warrenty.

You could replace the mainboard and the keyboard if needed and get it running again. That would cost more than this is worth. You should be able to put the hard drive into a usb case ($15 +) and copy off your files and such. It is fixable but not really worth doing.

No power after water spill

Pre heat your oven to 125 degrees or as low as it will go, when it reaches that temp. turn the oven off and put in your coffee maker, let it stay until the oven cools down and repeat three or four times, that should  dry out the electrical components.  Good luck.

I have an Omnitech OT-535BL paper shredder. It got a jam, I cleaned the paper out but it still wont work. It sounds like it is turning on when I plug it back in but it wont go.

This unit can also overheat and automatically shuts down when it does; to be thorough--simply unplug, empty the wastebasket, turn upside down, remove any remaining paper from blades, plug back in, and leave it alone for 30-60 minutes. Try again.

It's not an industrial shredder and has a low daily capacity, designed only for small office use.
