Question about Dell Inspiron 8200 Notebook
Right after it was out of warranty, or probably even before, because I had lent it to my son and it was in a stationary spot, there was a "hot" spot in the back underneath, that everytime you touched it the computer would lock up. I took it to a repair place for an free estimate and he opened it up and now it doesn't have sound or touchpad. It also loses the hard drive occassionally and I now boot from the hard drive or the CD. What the heck? I know its a boat anchor but I can't afford a new laptop right now.
When that guy so you mentioned opened it up did he tell you it is possibly the fan stuffed up on the top of the processor. Thats why it was hot. Replace the fan then you wont have any problems. If you do the one who opened it first did not put the right things back proper thats my assumption. The sound and the touch pad connections were not replaced when he put it together again. Although the fan on the processor may have been going it is not strong enough to cool the processor down.
