SOURCE: How to date/time stamp photos?
No. with digital cameras there is no need to do so, as the date and all other details, such as what lens was used and exposure, etc. is stored in the image file as EXIF data. If you need a date-stamp for legal purposes, I suggest you submit the original image, preferably RAW, from the camera.
SOURCE: how to make date and time stamp on Nikon d40x
The D40x will not timestamp the image itself.
The date and time are contained in the JPG metadata, which you can access when you look at the picture, or can imprint when getting the pictures processed.
SOURCE: How do I imprint the
Hello.
The date/time stamp can only be applied to a print using the camera in
pict bridge mode.
When you plug in your camera directly to your printer, a new menu will appear on
your camera and you will see the time/date option appear. At that point
you can choose to include it when you print your picture.
