SOURCE: front drive shaft/transfer case removal 03 chevy trailblazer 4wd

Sounds like you got it. They are heavy and ocward (spelling?). As for the front drive shaft take the bolts out and give it a couple of wacks with a dead blow hammer then slide it out. Maybe a few days before hand give it a good spray down with wd40 or like product. Also when you get to the last bolt for the t-case to trans loosen it half way then put a drain bucket under it and seperate it a little and let the trans fluid drain some, or you will be wearing it.

SOURCE: merces benz c230 timing chain replacement procedure

so it takes some Pin pullers, or a litlte bit of messing around witth proper sized (heavy duty) bolt to pull the pins, i cannot seem to find the timing marks on mine once i got it offand want to put back on, i have a chilton and it doesnt help. if you buy the 100 -200 dolar shop manual from bentley it would probably be quite simple :)

pull, pins, timing cover, water pump, solenoid, etc. to get to timing cover, uppe and lower, pull valve cover, and loosen cam (exhaust side) to get chain off. :)

Remove upper exhaust manifould heat sheild. Remove exhaust manifold brace. Remove lower exhaust manifold heat sheild. Loosen manifold to exhaust manifold spring loaded nuts. Remove radiator outlet pipe to water pump coverbolts. Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.
Pull down on the exhaust pipe to disconnect it from exhaust manifold bolts. Disconnect outlet pipe from oil pan and transaxle. If equipped with manual tranaxle, remove exhaust maifold brace. Leave lower radiator hose attached and pull down on radiator out look pipe to disengauge from water pump. Leave outlet pipe hanging.
Lower vehicle. Remove exhaustmanifold to cylinder head nuts. Remove exhaust manifold to cylinder head nuts. Remove manifould. Remove timing chain front cover. Remove timing chain tensioner. Remove bolts bolts securing water pump cover to cylinder block. Remove water pump to timing chain housing nuts. Remove water pump attaching nuts. Remove water pump and cover assembly. Separate componets as necessary.
WHEN INSTALLING WATER PUMP MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE TIGHTENING SEQUENCES THAT AFFECT SEALING. My frist one I messed up and broke the pump so becarful.
Installation
If cover was separated from body during removal, join this componets with a new gasket and hand tighten bolts. Apply bearing grease to splines of water pump drive. Set body and assemble into position.
Install and hand tighten bolts securing cover to cylinder block. Install and hand tighten bolts securing cover to cylinder block. Installand hand tighten nuts securing body to timing chain housing. Lubracate outlet pipe "O" ring with antifreeze. (I use RTV) Connect outlet pipe. Install and hand tighten bolts. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification in the following sequence. I'll ad the torque spec. at the end but this is where if you tighten out of order something will break.
pump assembly to timing chain housing nuts.
pump cover to pump body bolts
pump cover to cylinder block bolts (Bottom Bolt First)
outlet pipe to cover bolts
To complete installation reverse removel procedure.
Torque specs are 19 in. or 26mm all except water pump cover bolts which are 124 in or 14Nm
I never torque the bolts just make sure there done in the right order.

While changing watr pump. Put long bolt in 1ST rt hole just under wate pipe. It was obviously to long. It was tight heard A grinding noise. Then it gave way. Water came out of hole where I was screwing in...

More then likely you did not puncture any thing, the water pump will have to come off and maybe replace again also maybe the timing chain cover could have gotten damage, more then likely the reason it's leaking is that the water pump gasket is not sealy right due to the broken bolt not pressing down on the gasket.

Timing chain is loose how do I replace or tighten

You need to pull out the timing cover. 4-6 hours of work. Here is the step to remove the Cover, then you need to remove the Sprockets.
moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.png
  1. Remove the oil pan.
  2. Remove the power steering belt if so equipped.
  3. Remove the air conditioning belt, compressor and bracket if so equipped.
  4. Remove the fan clutch (fluid coupling), with the fan and water pump pulley.
  5. Matchmark and remove the crankshaft pulley(s). This bolt will be very tight. Use the counter-holding bar, properly installed, to hold the crankshaft while loosening the bolt. Use the pulley extractor or gear puller to remove the pulley from the shaft.
  6. Remove the water bypass pipe.
  7. Remove the fan belt adjusting bar. If necessary, remove the lower power steering bracket for access.
  8. Disconnect the heater water outlet pipe.
  9. Unbolt the timing chain cover assembly. Be careful to loosen only the correct bolts.

To install:
  1. Install new gaskets over the dowels on the timing chain cover. Slide the cover assembly over the dowels and pump spline. Insert the retaining bolts and tighten them. Tighten the 8mm bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (13 Nm) and the 10mm bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
  2. Temporarily install the adjusting bar to the alternator. Install the adjusting bar to the chain cover and tighten the bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (13 Nm).
  3. Install the heater water outlet pipe.
  4. Install the water bypass pipe.
  5. Install the crankshaft pulley and bolt. Use the counter-holding tool to hold the pulley and tighten the bolt to 116 ft. lbs. (157 Nm). If equipped with air conditioning, install the second crankshaft pulley.
  6. Install the water pump pulley and fluid coupling with the fan.
  7. Adjust the tension on the drive belts.
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor bracket, compressor and belt if they were removed.
  9. Install the power steering belt and adjust it.

first you have to take off the exhaust manifold. then take off the top motor mount and lift plate on the passenger side on top. then take off the 25 little bolts and nuts off the timing chain cover. with the cover off, take out the bolts on the timing chain tensioner (towards botton, by the crank, looks like a little rod in a aluminum housing). now take off the curved tensioner shoe and the chain will loosen. take the chain off. now the fun part is getting the bolts off the back of the water pump to the block. then the bolts connecting the water pump to the steel housing. and finally the three nuts connecting the pump to the chain housing. not hard just frustrating. replace the pump and new gaskets (comes with pump) and bolt back everthing back together. you may want to change your thermostat while your there since its right by the pump. now putting the timing chain back on and having it in time isnt the hardest thing but if your a first timer take your time. go to a mechanic and ask to print out intalation insructions on timing chain installation. then bolt it all back together.
