My Razer Mako speakers just started to cut out today. Yesterday they were fine through the entire volume range. Today, unliess I listen to them at lowe levels or turn the base down, they do a soft "clip" and then ramp back up to the desired volume. It seems deep base will cause them to cut out almost every time. I'm assuming a capacitor is going bad. Any ideas wheich one?

it's a simple 25V 47uf 85C capacitor. you can pick one up at your local Fry's electronics, or get one on ebay for about one dollar. I know of 4 people now that have fixed their razer mako with this single capacitor being the only problem. TRUST ME, it's not the control pod, nothing to do with it, but the control pod does initiate the power start up, and this capacitor is faulty and works...sort of until complete failure. yet no visual sign of failure with oozing or leaking. it's just bad, along with ALL the capacitors on this board are from fujicon... absolute *******! make it a project and replace all of them if you want these awesome speakers to last forever. I decided to upgrade it all and bought high end audio caps from ELNA, NICHICON, PANASONIC and FROYLT. Sourced ALL of them on ebay. I'm not very tech savvy, it's NOT difficult to repair one cap on your own. A soldering iron (40watt min) some rosin core solder (thinnest guage is best), and solder wick is all you need. Razer Mako's are amazing speakers, and with an upgrade of new caps, these bad boys are sure to be impressive!

This is going to sound really stupid, but if I was just having the exact same problem as you. I launched the Razer Synapse 2.0 program and save that my up key had a macro that did nothing. Once I changed that back to the default single up key function, it seems to be working fine.

Definately sounds like the fuel pump

The solution is that there are two capacitors in the subwoofer amp that need replacing. A qualified electrical repair shop can do this easily for you. If they put it on the oscilloscope, you'll see that the issue is one of two caps :
Best solution is to replace both the capacitors. One capacitor is 47 uF/50V, and the other is capacitor is a 100 uF 35V.

Voltage (Voltage capacitors) must be of higher capacity, not lower. By putting in slightly bigger capacitors, it will more resilient to dirty power, which I believe is the reason why it went bad in the first place - put these on a proper power surge/filter to protect them.

I had the same problem today. Don't know what caused it. But I turned off the Makos using the switch behind the subwoofer waited about a minute then turned them back on, problem solved.

click right mouse click harddware -divece manager look sound option (speaker sign} if not stall u can see yellow sign,install sound by using ur board cd. 2/ go run type control click sound andaudio option then u can get volum/sound/audio/voice/hardwer option check if incorrect correct it .3/ look ur speaker's volum is off or not? what u keep volum on mute or not? ..... thanks

The intensive bass is making the speaker shake very much and that could have caused a short that changes the volume after a while when the speaker has been shaking for a period of time. You could try lowering the bass or volume to see if it makes a change in how long it takes to make the volume change.
