Question about JBL CREATURE II Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Channels I just realized that both of my speakers are producing sound from the same channel (the right channel). When I turn the balance all the way to the left there is no sound whatsoever. How can I correct this? I remember having trouble when I initially set the speakers up producing sound at all. Is there a connection sequence that I am failing to execute properly? I have lost the procedure, so I can't remember. Any help would be much appreciated.

There is sound coming from the left channel/speaker but it is very faint, and I also believe it is the same sound that's coming from the right channel. I tried what you said but the Creature Speakers' inputs are characterized by color and apparently shape (a square and triangle) so I can't switch the inputs as you described above. What else could it be?

You've camped the speakers onto the right channel only. While the balance is on the left unhook one of your speakers and connect to the other channel it will come on the now you should have balanced speakers. Can you come back and tell me if that helped.

You said you had a problem from the first time.
It has got to be in your connections look at them and look for the logics. If sound is coming out of output number one BUT the sound is going to two speakers at once. What logics would make the sound go opporsite. You again noted there are colors I think they would be RED and Black like negitive and positive. So red in one slot and black in the other on the right channel only, and the other red on the left side channel and also the remaining black.

I have a magnavox astro-sonic console the right speakers work at full strength but the left is muffled and when the volume is turned all the wat up it produces low sound.

Check the balance or fader control and turn it to the left channel and if that doesn't provide quality volume from the left try swapping the speakers.
If there is no improvement there is an amplifier fault...

CURSOR up/down buttons work for
adjusting the sound.
2. Press MULTI CURSOR up/down
repeatedly until "BALANCE"
appears on the display.
3. Press MULTI CURSOR left/right to

• Pressing right decreases the left channel

Only get sound out of right side both a and b

Good day sir, Hi, your Philips receiver trouble can be any of the ff:
  1. your receiver left fuse is blown, check if it has a user fuse at the back. or
  2. your main IC amplifier for the left channel is bad. you need to replace that IC, but check first the wiring of the speakers.
  3. Check your receiver left speakers if it is producing a soft hum, to do this turn down the right channel, or adjusting the balance knob to the left, or simply remove the speaker connection of the right channel. place your ears on the left speaker as you adjust the volume up and down, do you hear a soft hum that goes up and down also? If yes the problem is on the source section before main amplification, usually the pre-amplifier stage, If you hear no hum at all. problem with the main left amplifier. The main amplifier is usually a single IC for both left and right channel, OR one IC amplifier for the left and one for the right, in both cases, replace the bad IC.

Speaker output doesnt work

Hi when using surround sound its important to understand that not all soundtracks have a "rear channel' meaning that the rear speakers will not always produce sound. In fact the rear channels may only produce sound about 10% of the time.

Your receiver has a "test tone" which sends a tone sound through the 5 speakers you should turn the speakers up or down so that all 5 speakers produce about the same volume.

The speakers of course will have a different sound to them depending on the brand and model but just try to balance it as much as possible.

Should also point out that you need to start out with at minimum a STEREO signal and that it needs to be connected with good quality cables. If possible use the optical inputs or HDMI which is a digital signal but not all receivers have that capability.

Lastly play around with the settings Dolby is of course the standard but many receivers have Neo or other proprietary surround formats which may produce the desired effect.

Hope that helps

No sound out of left side speakers, front and back.

easiest way to see if the left outputs have gone is to swap the right and left speakers over. if the left works out of the right channels you know if the set has had it.hope this helps

Harmon Kardon and Infinity Modulus

I got the answer for No-1.
The balance was turned on the Right Channel. That is why Left Channel was not working during the Channel test.
For Channel test the Balance should be in the middle so that both Right and Left Would be heard.

I am working on my Subwoofer Isuue.

I opened the Back Panel and Yet I could ot figure out any issues.

I will open the front panel and see if any connection is loose.

Sound through one channel

Only the right channel had a sound, the left channel is mute, whatever adjustment you did and whatever balancing you done nothigs happen, even you interchange the speakers. The problem is in the power amp. The STK IC there is busted already, it's better to change it with a new one so the performance become normal again.
