Re: how to connect my palm to my computer when I am using...

Hi. try this.

have the tx search for you network using the wifi button at the bottom of the screen.
select/highlight your network and click edit. note do not connect to it yet
click configure.
on the security, pull down the arrow and pick WEP (or WPA according to what your router has.) note that since you mentioned the 10 digit alphanumeric code i assume it is WEP
on the key type click on 40 bit hex
i usually leave the four keys unchecked. (unless you have 4 keys)
insert your alphanumeric key that you use to protect your network into the dotted line.
click yes to connect. enjoy.

if your pda has connected and you still cannot get your internet, please read below.

PS. some internet servers may require a new user to input a name and password as a safeguard. this is familiar when you try to log into a public wifi hotspot with your laptop and the web browser always redirects you to an agreement page.

if this is so, what i do is to run my internet browser. let it load the first page then i accept the agreement and i am in.

hope this works for you. please feel free to email me with any more questions.

Hi I can hotsync with cable but not wi fi.It is connecting to router but I cannot access web pages . has been working fine on other routers but not this one.I am using palm TX

Sounds like your net work or security key isn't right for that wifi network.

If you can do basic net things but just not sync then it could be that you need to put in the ip# for the computer that you are hotsyncing to so hotsync can find it.

Wifi connection issues with Palm One LifeDrive

It sounds like you need to setup the network settings on the palm or the wep or securty key or both.

When it shows the network id tap edit then enter the wep or wpa key if needed, then tap details to get to the screen where you enter the normal network details.

Usually it is just the security key that causes this. Get that code in and you might pop right on.

Synching with desktop

Check to make sure the cable is securely plugged in to the USB socket on your computer, and the other end is securely plugged into the Palm device. Unplug them and plug them in again, don't just push on the ends -- if there is dust or something messing up the connection unplugging and plugging in again might shake it loose.

Palm TX wireless configuration

Using a computer that is currently able to connect to your router, open a web browser and go to or (whichever works), and log in to your router. The default username and password might be "admin", or just "admin" for the username with no password, or check the manual to find out the default username and password. Once you've successfully logged in, you should be able to get the security settings where you can see what the WEP key is.

Let us know how you make out.

Cradle not synchronizing with computer vx series

I've had some problems syncing my Palm with a cradle on occasion.

I found that I had to push my Palm down on it (and sometimes keep applying pressure), then start the sync.

Do you hear a beep when you initially place the Palm on the cradle? This is a successful connection noise if so. If not, then the Palm/Cradle/Computer are not successfully connecting from the get go.

You may want to make sure the connectors are securely connected together and maybe even clean the contact points.

Palm M515 hot sync problem

I have a similar problem with my m515. I have 3 palms and 2 sync fine but the 3rd isn't even getting to the computer. There is no recognition from the computer that the palm is trying to sync even though I use the same cradle for all palms. The ensuing message is, "the connection between your handeld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again". My settings are set Local and Cradle/Cable.

Not turning on

If it's not making the bleep sound when you first connect it, then something is wrong with the connection between the computer and Palm.

Try plugging it in and then while it's plugged in hit the reset button. This resets the charging mechanism inside. Then let it sit a few hours to see if it will come on later.

Also, you may need to troubleshoot the connection from the Palm to the computer. Make sure all is connected securely, make sure the Palm Desktop icon is in the bottom right hand corner of your computer in the system tray.
