the samsung sync is a pretty good phone with many options of customization available. problem is, most are hidden. heres how to access them:

1. open phone, and push the side key under the memory card slot. [alternatively, just get to the PROFILE option. in that case, skip 2]

2. scroll over to the 'PROFILE' setting

3. highlight the 'NORMAL' setting, and push the 'OPTIONS' key.

4. go to 'EDIT'. push 'CALL ALERT' and you get a wealth of options.

i will map them out for you too lazy to look through everything:

How do I add new text message alert tones for my pantech link phone

to change the alert tone for pantech link: go to “menu”, go to “settings”, go to “profiles”, if you want it to ring and vibrate, choose “vibrate and ring” then go to “edit” which is the key at the very top left of the keypad, go down until you get to “message sound, go to “select”, “audio” and then choose the tone you want. hope that helps…i just figured it out today.

SMS alert not working

Check the ff:
-You might have turned your "message alert" off or your phones "volume" off or silent.
-"Vibration" alert is off

Try this:
-Turn the "vibration" on or activate.
-Be sure the phone "volume" is not zero, empty or off.

Notify me if it doesn't work, if it did pls rate this solution...tnx
