AP does not work in Repeating Mode?

Hi, I have a D-Link (DI-524) Router and a D-link (DWL-G700AP) AP. When I try to config. the AP in Repeating mode, he finds the wlan but he can not connect. Could anyone please tell me how to get the accesspoint working.

I want to use the AP to enlarge my wlan. It should be the same network, the AP is connected to the router.

Please help me.

- Thank you for your fast answer.
I only want to have one wlan but now I have two.
You are right, the DI-524 is the DHCP router. The AP is connected via ethernet.
DI-524 Firmware-Version: V2.03DE
DWL-G700AP Firmware Version v2.12

I´m using the same encryption on the AP and the router : Open System, WEB-Encrytion: 64-Bit, Key-Type: ASCII

AP config:
Mode: Access Point
(I tried to put them in Repeater-Mode but then the AP finds the existing Wlan from the router, but he can´t connect)

- Sorry for the last addon, I tried to copy the information from my AP and router in a table but it did not work.

I try it again:.
I only want to have one wlan but now I have two different wlan.
The DI-524 is the DHCP router. The AP is connected via ethernet.
DI-524 Firmware-Version: V2.03DE
DWL-G700AP Firmware Version v2.12

Could anyone help me??

Can you provide me with more information about your products?

For DI-524, what rev number and firmware installed? (There are rev's. A,C,D and E)
For DWL-G700AP, what firmware (only two, shipping and 1.02)
Please check those for me.
I'm assuming your DI-524 is the DHCP router and the DWL -G700AP is connecting as a client? Are you using encryption between the two devices?
