BenQ 8700 I recently moved and had my projector installed and now I can't get the aspect ratio off the lower left corner of my screen. Any ideas on how to remove this from the display?

Re: BenQ 8700

I had a similar problem with my Benq 8700+. The aspect ratio would show in the R low corner on changinbg resolutions, and would close down to a single line ("anamorphic" for example) which would remain on the screen. I checked the manual (useless) and went through all the set up screens (again useless). In despiration, I decided to try to unplug the projector and did so for 30 seconds to allow the charge to drain from the circuits powering the chips in the 8700+. Upon returning power and restarting, the screen resolution appears/disappears properly once again. Give thjis a try.

Half of the scrren has grid lines

You I think are in the setup menu to adjust the image.
It display grids to adjust the focus and aspect ratio.
If you goto the "SETUP" and "Pattern" menu & then "GRID"
You can turn it off.

My ProShow Gold production on my ACER laptop (set

I have asked a couple of gurus I know and they seem to think the solution is to set the laptop to aspect ratio 1024x768 to match the projector. Then change it back later. I am not in the position to test this unless it happens again with another projector somewhere else. What I wanted to know was how should they have set their projector. G.

Is there a way on my Hitachi projector to move the Freeze box that comes up when I freeze a page so that it is not in the middle of the screen? I would like it ideally in the lower right corner but could...

In Menu move the entire menu box by hitting position and the arrow keys when you esc, click on the freeze button and it should have also moved to the same position that you moved the menu box!

BenQ 8700 projector solution

Hi Rick

The upgrade is the same one used for the BenQ PE8720

Whoever told you this obviously did'nt know this.

You'll be needing Flashloader and the RS232 cable that came with the Projector.

It is absolutely cheeky of them to suggest that you should just use the Component input for all your applications on this Projector.

Make sure they understand that this was a top of the range Projector when you bought it and that it is not a good enough answer.

BenQ PE8700 DVI problem

Hi guys

All that needs to be done is a firmware upgrade.

This can however only be done by a BenQ Approved Service Provider because if the person doing this makes a balls-up the Projector will be dead as a doornail.

Projector Image Problem

Hi There

Your Projector switches to a 16:9 ratio when hooked up to a Video signal and to a 4:3 Ration when hooked up to a PC signal.

You can manually change this in the Menu functions if this bothers you.

Simply go to Aspect Ratio in your Menu's subfolders and press left or right once you scrolled down to it.

Aspect ratio problem

The unit is on 16:9 because you use a video ( composite ) input.

Go into your Menu and where you see Aspect Ratio 16:9 press the right arrow key to switch it over to 4:3
