Screen won't turn on

You can try to do the monitor self test.
Monitor Self Test:
1. Physically test the monitor autonomously from the computer.2. Switch both the monitor and the computer off, and then disconnect the VGA cable le from the computer.3. Turn the monitor on, pressing the power button for about three seconds. The self-test screen will come up .4. If the image is clear, bright, and shows red, green, and blue, the monitor is working properly. Video issues may be due to the video resolution in the computer, and not the monitor.5. If the image is not apparent and intense or the colors are not accurate, then the trouble is with the monitor or some of the (OSD) settings. In this case, test your particular monitor's information for OSD.
It is always important to check the color of your power light for so you can distinguish if the monitor is defective. Getting red lights on the the power panel states that the power section of the monitor is faulty.

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

Sounds like either there is a bad connection from the computer to the monitor, or the monitor has a faulty power regulator, causing the monitor to overheat prematurely, and shut off.

I have 2 of these monitors with the same problem. On power up the green led will light & remain on but the screen remains black. On one of the monitors the screen will light up for a few seconds then...

The inverter that turns on the back light may be bad - it's suppose to create the high voltage pulses to fire the CCFL back light lamps. Apparently the back light turns on after a few seconds however, it cannot stay on because the inverter might be bad. If you connect a known external CCFL lamp to the to the inverter output you can isolate the inverter.

ViewSonic VA1930wm Screen stays on for about 2 seconds, and then goes off. 1) If no computer is connected you get a "no signal" message which stays for about 1 seconds and then goes off; blue...

Very typical of View Sonic. Sounds like a back backlight or inverter. I would go to www.viewsonic.com and open up a RMA. Most view sonic screens have a 3 year warranty. They will repair at no cost ..(if it is within that period) There is a date code on the back of the screen that will help you validate the above information.

The screen goes blank after 1 second display, flicks back again to the display for 1 second and back to blank, this goes on non stop. The little led next to the on/off button goes from green to yellow...

pandres, Your monitor will need troubleshooting to find out reason why the 2 "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" fail to remain lighted. They provide "white light" so you can see what is on the lcd panel. Connect a "known good" monitor to your pc to prove monitor is bad. If pc is ok, then your monitor will need repair. This type problem not new and is very common for all brands of ccfl back-lit lcd monitors. Watch some video clips at YOUTUBE that show disassembly and repair of ccfl lcd monitors. Screen goes black after 2 seconds

This could be one of two problems, the light in your monitor has a loose cable, or the light is dying. I have seen cold cathode lights that are about 10-15$ to buy and many instructions on putting them in yourself.

Solution 2, your cable is loose on the back of the monitor. Make sure you have the screws tightened on either side of the vga or dvi cable, both on the back of your monitor and on the back of your computer or laptop.

Beautiful screen, lasts about for a few minutes, goes black. Power button still green. If I turn it off, and then back on, it works again for a while. Any ideas?
