SyncMaster 920n Power Cable (?) Issues

Hello there. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 920n Monitor, purchased about a year ago. I have started to notice that whenever I move the monitor, the edges appear to become smudged and flicker rapidly. As I didn't take me very long to notice that the power cable was the problem, I replaced it, but... to no avail. It even happens when I type harder. Could the contacts inside the monitor be the problem ?

Syncmaster 920N 5 Minutes of dark Screen It takes 5 minutes for screen to light after computer has been awaken from "sleep" mode or if monitor has turned off while listening to music online.

Hello Dfrank,

The 920N units use the same power supply board that the 710T uses and it was a known issue with bad capacitors that fail. When they fail it can cause the issues that you are having - Either slow to show a picture, wavy display or no power and flashing power light. The boards can be repaired if you can do a little soldering, the parts are cheap. We have a step by step repair guide posted on our tech support web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/repairing-the-samsung-syncmaster-710t/ This is an easy repair for a very nice monitor, well worth repairing it.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

I have a SyncMaster 920N Samsung Monitor and today it stops working. The power light is slightly constantly blinking, but the monitor is not turning on,when I m pressing power button. I tried changed power...

A fast blinking power light is an indication that the power supply is in a shorted condition. Parts called capacitors that filter the output power on the power supply board can fail and the power supply will short out causing the fast blinking power light. If you can solder then you can repair the monitor. Here is a link to a repair guide that has pictures and videos showing how to dis-assemble the unit and what to look for and replace to do the repair.

Dark screen samsung syncmaster 920 N strange noise behind it

The clicking sound you hear is the power supply board trying to start up, this indicates the board has failed. This is a common problem with all LCD monitors after a few years of use. Parts called capacitors on the power supply board fail and they will keep the power supply from starting up correctly. If you can solder then you can repair the board yourself. Here is a link to a repair guide with pictures and videos showing how to dis-assemble the unit and then what to look for and replace to rebuild the board and get the unit back running.

Samsung products does not require u to produce a bill during warranty, ur product info will be registered in the database of the customer care center. So you can go in and get ur claim with the warranty. And the about the green lines, it could be that something is wrong with your graphics adapter.

Something wrong with my lcd screen

As a quick test I would try connecting the monitor to another PC to make sure the problem follows the monitor. If it does then the likely cause is a circuit board or possibly a poor connection inside the monitor. Since working on this would require opening the monitor case and voiding your 1 year warranty I would recommend you contact Samsung support for a warranty replacement as soon as possible. When you do make sure you mention the problem goes with the monitor and any other troubleshooting steps you have taken. Also the replacement they send will itself be something that was returned and fixed. The only warranty you will get will be whatever is left of your original year so definitely get this taken care of as soon as possible.
