Is your dryer door closing all the way? I think it is the start button not connecting to the electrical point it needs to touch to start because if it has gas heating it, that is why you have heat, its an electrical problem for sure..however it could be small problem but fixing elcetrical switches can be dangerous for someone who isnt trained to touch
It sounds like you have the child-lock or control-lock function turned on. To turn it off, just press and hold the Heat (or Heated Dry) button for 4 or 5 seconds. That should unlock you dishwasehr and you can now use it normally.
try holding the door button, have someone push the start button and you spin the tub at the same time. If it starts, it is most likely the start capacitor on the motor. If it does not start, look at door button, start switch/button, and lastly, the timer.
Open front panel, remove heat exchanger and clean.
Unplug the dryer. remove the panel in the back of the dryer that covers the heating element. ( the inner panel). On top of the heating element you will see a thermal sensor with a small red button on it. Thats the manual reset button To test if the heating element is working properly you can disconnect the wires from the sensor and clip the connectors together . Plug the dryer back in and start it. pay attention to the heating element. It should begin to glow shortly. if it doesn't then your heating element is bad and needs to be replaced.
Unplug the dryer. Connect the wires back to the thermal sensor. Plug the dryer back in. Before you start the dryer, press the red button on the switch. This is your reset button. Start the dryer. If the heating element doesn't come on and dryer doesn't heat, then you need to replace that sensor.
Those two problems are usually unrelated and I believe you just have a coincidence that they both happened at the same time. You should replace the start button since it is faulty.
The heating problem could merely be that the machine does not have enough time running to heat up since you have to hold the button to keep it running, however if that is not the case then you should replace the heating element and the thermostat. Possibly the thermal fuse as well just in case.
