Are you getting power to contactor? 240 volts. is the thermostat calling to the contactor you should have 24 volts to the contactor from the thermostat to turn it on the out side unit. check to see if the contactor is suck in this is in the middle of the contactor you can push it in to see if you are getting power if you push it in then youa re not calling from thremostat.
SOURCE: GE Central A/C Unit about 30 yrs old; condenser fan stops after a short time.
I gather that it is the outdoor fan motor that runs a bit then stops.
Fan motors that stop by themselves are overheating and going into self-protect. The fact that you replaced the motor and capacitor opens up a whole world of "which wire is in the wrong place". I could do this if I could see it, but I can't see it. You're probably going to wind up calling a service man to sort out the wiring.
SOURCE: My ac fan went out on a carrier ac unit. Need wiring help
use a seperate capicitor for the fan only pick up 1 leg of power from common side of the compressor cap and the other from the contactor or the board in a heat pump situation
SOURCE: Replaced capacitor and contactor
Possible bad compressor. You may need a start kit on the unit. If it still does not work call the service tech back out. This should be no charge to you. He did not fix your problem. I give 90 day work garantee with my service calls. That is on the work performed. If my techs miss the call I only charge for the parts to fix.
SOURCE: I HAVE A GOODMAN CK-36-1A AC AND THE FAN IS NOT
Goodman unit you can use a 1/4 hp or 1/3 hp cond. fan motor but it does sound like a cap. Replace cap first. Its very easy to do just open up panel and replace the silver bullet with terminals out the top. It will say on the side what size it is like 40uf 5uf or something like that. Thats most likely your problem. Russ

there is a run capacitor is probably bad.
you can purchase a replacement one from slakey brothers. However the capacitor will still have a charge after the power and wires are removed. after turning off the breaker use a long bladed screw driver and ground the electrical leads to discharge the capacitor before removing. take it with you to the supply house along with the model and serial number of the condensing unit.
