Unable to use CanoScan N640P with Acer Notebook

Hi,

Since as you posted, your ACER Aspire 5552NWXCi notebook has no 25 pin Parallel/LPT1 port, what you need is an adapter that will convert your scanner's 25 pin parallel (DB25)to USB. Shown below is such an adapter made by Targus Model# PA096U and commonly called a USB to Parallel Adapter.

Do a google for USB to Parallel adapter or cable.

Can you tell us whether this worked? I have the same problem but the system still cannot find the scanner when I use a USB to parallel cable.
