Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
Hi, Thanks for saying that its not a chip problem. Well, then if its a cable problem, how do I check it. And, where can I find the cable??? Thanks mate.
Hi banerjen, I have not actually come up with the exact way to test the buttons. All I can offer is to do an autopsy of the reset/eject buton assembly, but not in a way to kill it. Use a volt meter set to ohms at a value of 20. You can read out the ribbon cable or wire cable, whichever model you have. The traces on the ribbon should read close to 0 ohm from end to end on each trace. If it read OL its bad. The switches I am not sure about. Never had any trouble with them. Ebay has supply of all the parts you will ever need at a great price.
