ok. Also having issues with screen the srews on the hinges came off (bad design) and the hinge was coming apart at one time. Replaced with new screws but hinge would still not move freely on one side and the srews came out again could that have something to do with it?
I will charge it for 24 hours and see if that does the trick last time I powered it up it was fine. Stopped using it bcause we kept getting porn pop ups and kids were using computer so I just unplugged it and like i said earlier i finally found the cord and was planning on scanning for adware and virus's. I can hear the fan come on sometimes and when it is plugged in the cdrom works but no computer screen and the wireless card on other side of computer is not powering up either.

Hi, Even if it's got one but dead cmos battery, the laptop should powerup and the worst is it will display an un-configured CMOS/BIOS. Chances are that it is something else. Try charging the laptop overnight and see if it powers up by then. You may also want to try checking on the memories, battery connectors. Post back how things turned up that we can figure other things out. Good luck and kind regards.

    Hi again,

Screen hinge/screw issue may also account for a problem. At worst is warped screen but there should be some display. A possibility is busted CCFLamp that provide the backlight for the screen. Having said that, it may be that your laptop is powering up, booting and running except you can not see it (if the backlight is gone). One way to check is to use an external monitor, Fn + F? key to activate or shine a small flashlight obliquely to the screen. There must be some semblance of your old desktop that will show but faintly.

Still, will look forward to your next post after charging the battery.

Samsung N145 Plus battery charge failure

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

I have a Sony VGN-CR220E. It would turn on but all I see is a black screen. The green light on the bottom lights up but all the rest won't light up anymore especially the 3rd light that would blink,...

One thing to try is if you can, connect an external monitor to the computer. Turn it off and then back on with the external monitor on. If video on the external monitor then the problem is with the laptop monitor most likely the FL inverter or the lcd itself. If no external video, it is most likely a motherboard problem.

My laptop wont turn on, the green light apears when I press the on botton and it sounds asif it's starting up, but then nothing happens, the screen stays black ?

If you have a desktop computer ,try connecting monitor cable to laptop,u may get the display.

It sounds like ur lcd or the inverter board has a problem.

Blinking Lights, Computer Wont Boot

If it's blinking 9 times then it's likely telling you one or more of the RAM sticks are in need of replacement. To check these, remove the laptops power cord and battery, then locate and remove, the cover for the RAM. Remove one chip at a time and try booting the laptop.
