I have exactly the same problem - and your comment was not very helpfull, unfortunately. I can add that this situation totally blocks the entire unti. To turn it of, I have to unplug the power cord. When re-plugged, I only have som e half a minute until the problem occur again. Meanwhile, I only have time to turn om #Turner", and play radio for some seconds. Then the problem interfer again. Right now, my DENON is totally unaccessable to me!!!

SOURCE: Denon stereo remote stopped working correctly
My suggestion would be to not ask this site for advise.
In my opinion, this is the worst site for actually addressing any problems involving any electronic device.
It is easier to just call Denon support and ask them how to fix the problem.
Your remote probably just needs to be reset, and they will tell you exactly how to do it.
Better still you'll actually be able to talk to a live person that is familiar with your product.
These guys that run this website are really only interested in the fact that you might click on an advertisement, that's why there is so many of them on the page.
I have never once received any advise from this site that has actually been correct.
These guys have actually made the problem worse.
I had to reset my entire Toshiba remote because of the advise I received from this site.
That meant pressing and holding each individual button on the remote for 2 secs each just to get it back to the original problem.
Never ask the so called experts on this site anything because they are self proclaimed experts and are probably not familiar with your device even though they claim to be.
This website should be shut down for misrepresentation.
It only pops up first on search engines because they pay to have it be that way.
If you absolutely cannot find the information your looking for and calling the service and support center for your device doesn't work, I suggest just returning the product to where you bought it or buying a new one before trying any advice on this website.
SOURCE: The Denon RC 1048 fell off couch and will not work
It is possible that when it fell that the connectors on the infrared might broke loose therefore not sending a signal to your receiver. Easy way to check that when you press buttons on your remote does the red light come on or not? If not then take remote apart and re-solder connection. If the light comes on try resetting your remote code to the receiver that you have. You can find a list of remote codes in your user manual or online at (http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductSupportAndArchives.asp) just find the model number of your receiver and get the .pdf file from them.
