confirm that your phone is not locked to a particular network carrier especially if you desire to change sim card operator.
if this were so, you will need to unlock your handset first before re-inserting your sim card into your handset.
third way out is to flash your phone.

Factory resetting the phone will do absolutely nothing with this problem
There are 3 causes of Sim Card Registration Failed, when you first turn on the phone, the sim card attempts to connect to the network if it can not do this it gives a message like Sim Card Registration failed.
1, The sim card is turned off (is it Orange) if you have had the sim card for a while and it hasnt been used they will turn it off, you need to contact them from another phone to get it turned on or get a new sim card.
2, The phone has a hardware reception problem, when it attempts to register itself with the network it can not... There is a reception problem and it requires repairs, this isnt really an easy diy job on this handset.
3, The phone is blocked, i.e reported lost or stolen. Some networks when a phone is reported will allow it to get reception but will not let it make calls, however other networks will not give it reception at all and hence you get a Sim Card Registration failed message.
I hope this helps, these are the causes of the message.

The first thing to try is put the SIM into another handset - if you get the same error message on that, the SIM is blocked. If it works in another phone, the most likely explanation is that the IMEI of your phone has been blocked by the network.

Hello
There are two things causing this problem, either your phone is not registered to the Sim card's network or your Sim card is corrupt
To find out where the problem has come from, you should try another Sim with your phone, if the Sim does not work then the phone is registered to a particular network and no other Sim card will work on it.
If you try another Sim card and it works then your Sim card is corrupt and you should replace it.but to be double sure, test the Sim card on another phone to see if it works,if it does then your phone is not compatible with the Sim card's network but if it does not work then your Sim has to be changed
