You will get that error message if the device is locked while it is plugged into your computer. If that isn't the case, I don't know why it wont work.

Ok, First of all remember that this is 1 gig player and you have to make sure you aren't copying more pics than you have room for. I have one of these players (just got yesterday) and so far everything works great, music, voice, and video. I have found to view the photos you have to copy them into the root of the drive, otherwise I get a "type error". Also check on the size of the photos you are trying to copy. If you use high res mode on your digicam those pictures are going to be large(4 meg each) and display very slowly.

If you delete files on a MAC they are still there. Go to Options or Utilities folder (depending on which OS is running). Use the clean utility to clear the dead files.

The issue is the file location on windows. When the error message pops up it should give you the option to browse your computer and find the file. If not find the file and add it to windows media player manually. It should fix the errror. or your computer just hates you lol

Try to format the removable disk drive where your device are connected. The type of format should be FAT, not NTFS.
After this you should be able to copy your files back and get correct memory size again.

Good luck!

in my opinion it is enough to format your player memory. Connect it to the PC and make back up your media files. Format the drive of the player. After this all the media files will be disappeared from the player. Then copy back the media files backed up from the PC.
I hope in this way your songs
will be able to copy to the player.

Error free 4mb of space to build music library and disney mix max won't play any songs?

The memory may be corrupt and it can't read the music files correctly. Open your My Computer icon and plug the player into your computer. You should see a new removable disk called Mix Max appear. Right click on the disk and choose Format from the pop up menu. At the Format window make sure that the File System is set to FAT32 and click Start. At the next window click OK to proceed. You'll then need to add the songs back to your player but it should correct the problem. When adding the songs to the player again make sure that you leave at least 4 megabytes of space available so it can create the library file.

Error copying file or folder

You can always reformat it. If you plug the mp3 player into your computer and right click on the icon in the MY COMPUTER window, and click on FORMAT. It should come to a new window and click on start format. Your fixer, Wild2DMaxx

Error message: Not enough space for music DB. Please free 4MB.

Hi I have just bought a Sandisk Sansa M250, we loaded som music on it and it lasted 2 hours, then it the message came "Not enough space for music DB please free 8 MB". I couldnt even go in to the menu. I contakted and 24 hours after they came up with an answer. If it's currently frozen, hold down the power button for 20 seconds in order to soft reset it. Let's try to format the player (THIS WILL ERASE ALL FILES FROM THE PLAYER). Plug it into your computer, then open My Computer, right-click the drive associated with the player, and choose Format. It may give you a choice of file system, if so, choose FAT (it may only let you choose FAT32, which is fine). Now click on Start and it should format the player. If not already done, please also update the firmware from this link: The 20 seconds on the power button didnt work, but the formation did. Hope this helps. //Cadmann Please bear with my english
