Dell inspiron 2020 all in one fan problems

I have found that if the room temperature near the computer is too high creates a problem. If the processor is being used at a high rate that will influence the temp sensors and cause the fan to run at the "speed" you hear. (It is on all the time, just different speeds). Other heat producers may not have clean fans or fins, for example display adaptor or power supply. or but unlikely, the
cpu fan interface is not well seated or no heat transfer grease. You didn't change the processor did you?

Fan speed switch

the problem will be in the fan resistor a small unit normally screwed into the heater case behind the glove box. The resistors that create the lower speeds will be burnt out leaving only the direct circuit for high fan

Heat makes a screaming sound - only comes on when on high, air does not come on at all - A little advice and help needed. THANKS

The screaming sound is the blower motor bearing. the fan speed switch controls the grounding side of fan motor once on high it grounds the high speed fan relay. so lower speeds goes through blower motor resistor. this may be burnt out do to bearing is screaming tight to shaft creating a larger ampere draw that burnt it out.

What size case fan for HP Compaq dc7600?

What size case fan? Dunno.

1) How to measure the fan? Across the fan's shroud. (Surrounding Cage) Fan stood up, measure the Height, and Width.

2) Look at the label on the fan's center hub. Write the number down.
Now which of these CHASSIS fan numbers match?

http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/HP-Compaq,Business-Desktop-dc7100-dc7600-dc7700,Computer,Fans.aspx

A) 3777791-001
Chassis Fan - 70mm x 70mm x 15mm.

70mm x 70mm is the height and width of the fan's shroud. (Surrounding cage) [ Chassis fan stood up ]

15mm is the Thickness of the fan shroud.

Nope, not that one.

B) 451144-001 Chassis Fan - 92mm x 25mm

Could be.

C) 455310-001 Chassis Fan - 92mm x 25mm.

Could be.

My dc7600,s fan makes noise when cpu usage reaches upto50

Open the case and try tightening the screws that hold the fan. Also make sure no cable or wires are touching the fan blades causing the noise.

My HP DC7600 - get noisey when starting to plau games

Download and install and run this. You may want to go to the settings tab in the program and change it from metric. Then you can see the temperatures of everything in your computer. You can then launch the game and see what the temps do. It is common for fans to speed up when the computer senses large demand on the processor and graphics cards.

A/c is cold but the fan is not working to blow it into the car stopped working on high first now will not blow at all

Check your blower motor resistor. It is commonly the part that the blower motor power connector plugs into. It sounds like the high speed element went first and you lost the high fan speed. If the remaining resistor element is broken, the fan will stop working. The resistor only have 2 elements; if they're both broken, it creates an open circuit to the blower.

I have a HP dc7600 SFF. Tried to Install 2 graphics cards no vid

The dc7600 SFF only comes equipped with a 240 watt power supply. I think this may be causing your problems.

I am currently looking for a graphics card for the same comp with the HIS ATI HD 4350 in mind, but the website states that a 300 watt power supply is recommended.

Noisy fan or motor?

HI. The most common issue here will be with a loose motor shaft. This is the part that the fan blades are mounted on. When this occurs, the looseness will cause the motor, and shaft to wobble, thus, causing this noise you here at high speeds. The wobble is less violent during the slower speeds, so it is not loud, in this case.

The second issue will be a warped fan blade. This will cause the fan to rub against the shroud, thus, creating the noise, as well.

If the shaft is loose, or bent, the entire motor will need to be replaced. Now, if the fan blade is warped, you can, simply, unscrew the blade from the shaft, and replace it(on most model)
