Question about Quasar SP-3235 32" TV

1 Answer

Infra Red LIGHT OUT

My original remote control stopped working, so I purchased a universal remote and went through all the codes - this one would not work either. I have several other universal remotes - different models and brands and coded them to the televison and none of the other four I tried would work either, so I have to conclude that something is wrong with the infrared light. Please let me know if and where this part can be purchased and if this can be accessed without having to take the entire set apart. Thanks gmommanurse

Hi, Based on your trying of different remotes, your conclusion is basically correct, however, it is very rare for the infrared receiver to go dead (or at least the sensor itself). Should this still be the case, there is no other way but to open the TV unit. Since the placement of the infrared receiver is to the front of the TV, chances are that what your are thinking "take the entire set apart." is the only way to do remove the infrared receiver. A guess would be the sensor which normally is available even in RadioShack. Your best bet may be to seek the services of a qualified professional willing to undertake component level repair rather than modular/PCB replacement. At times it may just be a loose connection inside the TV or no low B+ to the infrared receiver module/circuitry. Alternately, you can try to "borrow" an original remote and see if that will work just to really confirm. Some instances of this problem in some other brands/models got solved by resetting the TV (unplug for a couple of hours). Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Sharp aquos remote not working

Check the remote controls for its infra-red emission. Check them with fresh new batteries. If there is no infrared rays come out from its front window/LED; the remote control is faulty. If the remote controls are found OK, and the TV do not respond to it, the infrared sensor inside the TV is faulty; should be replaced.

If you have to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites.

My Toshiba LCD TV dos not respond to remote controls and all remotes are good so what should i do .

Have you checked all the remote controls for its infra-red emission? Are you using its original remote control or a universal one?
If you're using the original remote control, it should work without any problem; provided it emits infrared light from it to each press of a button on it. You can check it using a cell phone camera. The procedure is given one among the following sites liked here. If it is a universal remote control; you have to synchronize it with your device, using the set-up codes.

Correct code for universal remote will not turn off tv. On the 50" digital led model ELEFT502. Original remote always had a weak signal worked only when pointed a foot away from infared reciever. Then quit...

No universal remote control will work with any TVs as well as the original ones. If the original remote control do not get range, there are two reasons for it; and can be repaired to.
1. Battery weak [Replace with new batteries]
2. The infra-red light emitting diode at the front of the remote control is weak.[Can be replaced with a new one. It can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops]
Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. If the remote control you bought newly is the original one; it should work without any problem. If it is a universal remote control, you should set it up with the set-up code to LG.
In case it is original number:

You here reports that even the new remote too does nor responds. Which remote did you bought? An original one or a universal remote? If it is an original one, and even your set do not respond it, the infra-red sensor inside the TV is faulty. Replace it. Contact any service technician. If it is a universal remote control; you have to set it up with the set-up codes said to Philips brand TV [The setup code list will accompany with package of each universal remote control], to work with it.

Sony hifi gn88d

Check the original remote control for its infra-red emission. check it with fresh batteries. If you wish to get more details, about how to check a remote control, please, try the site linked below.
If the original remote control seems inoperative, try to get an original one itself, because, no universal remote control will function as the original one. You can get it by the authorized service center for Sony, I assumes.
If you can't get the original one, think of a universal remote. But, keep in mind, that with Sony TVs; no other universal remote control will work with what the function is meant for. The only thing we can do is check codes, by one and other, and select one code, which give you maximum functionality.
If you wish to get more details, check the sites linked here. Setup code list, and setup procedure to many popular brand remote controls are given.

Universal remote has lost it programming and wil not operate tv. I need codes and to know how to enter them into the remote. The tv is a SylvaniaModel 6424TF Please respond. Thanks you Pauline

Hi, I have a few things for you to try.
1. Your TV "6424TF" seems to have problems with its IR "Infra-red" sensor going bad. This is a common problem with your model TV. If this is the case no remotes will work on your TV.
2. Because I do not know the model of your universal RCA remote I cannot tell you how to program it.. please supply the model number of it. Try looking under the battery cover. might be an "RCR..." number. I need to know this because all universal remotes have different codes and programming methods.
3. To know 100% if its your TV that's bad you will need the original remote for your TV. I have already looked up your original remote and you can purchase a brand new replacement that will work right out of the package (assuming your TV IR sensor isn't broke) here: RR0108UD for all sylvania TVs . no programming is necessary for this remote.
