Re: No sound

As for the solutions that dukic posted. There is no A/B button on the system. There is no mute button anywhere on the stereo itself or the remote. And there is not line for switched in for the speakers. Apparently it must be something internal on the board. Maybe some saudering came undone somewhere. If anybody has any idea that would be helpful i would greatly appreciate it!

Re: No sound

Is the A/B speakers button pressed? Is the muting button pressed? Is the stereo switched to "Line In"?

My technics sh-eh780 stereo seems to work but the sound is very dull in sound

Unless there's an issue with internal components of the amplifier or speakers, a common cause of this is reversed speaker polarity.

The wires between the + and - terminals of the speakers MUST connect to the same + and - terminals on the back of the stereo amplifier. The speaker wires that came with the stereo are color coded to help prevent mis-wiring. If you did not pay attention to this or used different wires for any reason, you need to ensure that the wires between the each of the speaker's 4 terminals connect to the correct group and + / - terminals on the amp.

See page 6 of the manual here:

Make sure that the surround and center speakers are connected correctly, too.

Good luck!

Need a new stereo to work with the old speakers

Any 5.1 surround system will work with this. It is better to be high in impedence than too low.

I have a Panasonic AK SA 350 stereo unit and want to hook up different speakers than supplied with the unit. How can it be done?

Take new speaker wires and connect them to your new speakers. the wires may have to be cut and new terminals fitted depending on what you have. It would be ideal to solder the ends that clip into the stereo Just make sure the new speakers have the same impedance as the original

I have a sa-ak320 stereo that was left at my gf's

The 6 ohm speaker would make it slightly louder but won't solve the problem, you are right the stereo has bad audio output ic, and there is trouble with the cd player. I would use it until it goes, and get a brand new unit, not cost effective to repair.

Philips MCW770/37 stereo will not power on any longer.

Hi ,
This is just a suggestion. Check your speaker wires at the back and at the speakers. A shorted speaker wire will cause a tripped breaker.

Low Volume from right speaker of entertainment center - turntable only

Hi There thanks for your very good desctiption of the problem it really helps to have a lot of detail...

There are Mono and stereo types of stylis cartridges and it sounds like you have a mono equipped into a stereo amplifier..

If there are 4 small coloured wires visible under the stylis then
its a stereo stylis and should work, have a close look and maybe one of the small wires has dropped of the small pins on the back opf the stylis cartridge.

If there only two wires visible then its a mono cartridge and this is why you only have sound from one channel..

So answer is wires dropped of the stylis.
Wrong type of stylis cartridge.
if there are four wires and thay all look connected then perhaps the stylis is faulty and you need to replace it...

Adding two more speakers to stereo system

That's what we call parallel connections, Yes it's possible, but will decrease the sound wattage of the amp. Having these connections is risky, you do not want to shortage the speaker output of your amp by making mistakes of wire's color coding. Other than that, it should be fine......

Strange buzzing noise

Sounds like a bad filter cap in the power supply.when you change dimmer switch the buzz changes slightly because of a different power sraw on the power supply. If you are not versed in electronic repair. Get an Estimate. Or if unit is old get yourself a new one. Good Luck
