also try changing the wireless channels to 11 to reduce interference to 3rd party hardware such as cordless phones, and power settings should be 10 to ensure modem is broadcasting at full 400mW of power. do not put the modem near your cordless phones, and it must be sitting upright.

My compaq presario cq56 will not restore itself to factory default settings

U have a nasty bug in there. Your best bet is using another computer download the latest malwarebytes program onto a usb stick. Using the hiren disk boot up to the fake desktop, navigate to the usb stick via explorer and run the program and get the latest updates for it at same time. Then run it and clean out the crud that is in the machine causing havoc. When you reboot go back into the program and permanently remove the deleted items that are in the quarantine area.

Hi olubunmi14 , please try going in to safemode and uninstall the application , In order for you to get safemode, just keep tapping on F8 while your computer is booting up. Once you're done uninstalling it simply start the computer in normal mode and no need for you to tap F8 just let it restart...seems that your computer cannot hold that huge amount of memory that is needed for your antimalware program, you might as well consider some anti-malware that wont use a lot of memory ...nowadays its necessary for these application to run all the time especially everytime you open your computer so that uses a lot of your computer memory..let me know if you need more help... :)

Go to www.download.com in the search box put in Revo Uninstaller, download the file and run the installer. When you activate Revo, it will list all installations, choose the program you want to delete, and double click it. Choose "Advanced" for the removal procedure. Revo will trigger the programs uninstaller, go through the steps of uninstalling except, do not reboot until Revo is through. Once the programs uninstaller is done, Revo will now search the registry and app. data for additional files. When it finds other files it will list them, select all and delete all it finds. If you need to reboot now to complete deletion of any additional files, then now is the time.

I'm trying to install Norton 360. It says it's detected the old 60 day trial, and removes it, then asks for a restart. When it boots back up, it says the same thing again, and I've restarted 7 times now....

Go to Control Panel > add/remove programs and uninstall Norton 360 from there.
After uninstall is complete then proceed with restart and then install the new version.
In case you are unable to remove the software via add/remove programs then reinstall the old expired version (this will repair the old installation). Restart then uninstall via the method given above i.e. through add/remove programs.
This software is a problem when uninstalling..you are not alone.

Unistall webcam driver and reboot unit

Hi nuryani86

It means uninstall the camera software from Control Panel > Add/Remove Program (XP)

or Control Panel > Programs and Features (Vista)

Reboot the Unit means do a Restart from the Shut Down menu. Shutting down then booting back up will do the same thing.

Does this help?

Presario C700 - Vista - Boots but continually restarts explorer.

You did not mention if you uninstalled it. Did you? If you did and it is still doing, do what I have done in the past with excellent results. Do a System Restore to a restore point created prior to installing it. I would also suggest using the freeware, CCleaner, which will also clean your registry.

Of course, if you have not uninstalled it, then that would be the thing to do - time to look for something else that works. :)

Detected before, but not after. Help me please,

Go to device manager and uninstall everything under the USB heading and restart your computer. This should reinstall all the drivers and hopefully reinstall your mouse. You may need to rerun the driver you downloaded for the mouse afterwards.

My next suggestion your be to try the mouse on another computer to make sure it is not defective.
