SmartGuard troubles I have a Pro-LX. I just purchased the SmartGuard Card, and got the SmartGuard software from a Fargo Dealer. When I go to enter the password to encode the card, it does nothing but make the laminator rolls turn. I tried reinstalling the printer driver, and even installed the driver and smartguard on another computer with the same result. I also switched cables and checked the DIp switches to make sure it wasnt in any kind of service mode. Please help, I am stuck.

Sounds as if you may have the wrong software version and or Smartcard mismatch.
There were two versions of smartguard software: version 1.01 for Pro series and version 1.03 for DTC series.
The smart card must also match the printer series, it is printed on the card.
One other thing, some printers have the slot for the smart card but no smart card reader installed.

I am having the same exact problem with the Pro L. Did either one of you figure it out? I just spent $100 on the SmartGuard and now I cannot get it to work
