Question about Philips 32DV60S 32 in. TV/DVD Combo

1 Answer

Philips tv/dvd combo picture problems

The display is stretching and fading, with occasional spots of pixilation and color distortion. Similar in appearance to older pc screens when magnets are placed near them. I'm afraid a solution is hopeless.

If stretching is vertical! you have defective parts, like open resistor or change value resistor.

Bad picture

Hi do you mean your picture is distorted ,pixelated, with spots? If you have any of those symptoms it might be a problem with the light engine. Here's how your tv works: Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Found it here: Have a blessed one!

Distorted color on hdmi output

If you haven't already stumbled across the fix: I just had the exact same problem after about eights months of casual use. Unplugging the DVD player for about 15 minutes and then plugging it back in "solved" the problem. Until next time it happens, anyway.

When watching dvd having showing or fade background

yes it can be down to signal degradation especially via scart lead, make sure you use a decent scart if you buy an expensive one you can tell the difference. Run a cable from your sky digibox direct to your tv to see if the picture improves.
