Get a HDMI lead it makes HD tv look how it is suppose to look HIGH DEFINITION. You'd think it naturally is suppose to look great but these people are rip offs you need that additional peice which should make it spot on for you. Try stores such as maplin & currys. Get the gold plated HDMI lead better quality

Call Sharp for warrenty repair. This problem very common in Sharp tv.Picture will come on turn power on/off button few times will work. But still under Wareenty call to Sharp to replaced the main Tuner Signal board.
sounds like you might have PIP turned one (picture in picture) .. if there is no input hooked up for the PIP . you will just get a black screen ... you should be able to move that PIP around and change its size .. indeed turn it off .. look for a menu item called PIP .. select PIP off ..
With the input button on the remote cycle through all inputs until you get the signal.
If this does not work let me know and we can look into your connection.

There is no secret to adjusting the picture settings on this unit. My unit is perfect with Hi Def signal and better with Blu Ray. I assume you are using HDMI cables and have tried a new HDMI cable to eliminate the possibility of a bad cable. If you have done this then the unit has a problem and I would take it back or contact Sharp to get an auth. service center involved.
Change your input source. You are probably on Input Source "TV". My HDMI cable is plugged in INPUT 4 so make sure that your TV is set to the right INPUT.
