Water in refrigerator door coming out slow

I have a whirlpool side by side refrigerator. The water in the door comes out strong for a second or two then it slows down a lot. The ice maker seems to get enough water for the cubes. I had the water line ran to my old fridge and it was slow coming out too. I have metal pipes under my house, so I had to drill the hole for the water line, could I have drilled the hole too small or something? I jsut replaced the filter. Please help. Ben

Hi Ben22 Sounds like some thing pluging the water line or the water line pinched some where.. if the hole was 1/4 inch you should get enough water with that big of a hole. I would check the water line for a obstruction. Let me know if this helps. Krazytech

Water freezes when going into ice maker model # ed25rfxfw01 whirlpool

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn't take much to eventually block the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.

Whirlpool ED22PE refrigerator in-door water dispenser very slow

remove the saddle clamp that some idiot put on the supply line under your sink and splice in a real "T" with a real cutoff. hopefully the saddle clamp is past your main valve and not before it or you'll have to turn off all your water first.
