Problem for Microwave Ovens
Generic problem for all Microwave Ovens

Manufactured in 2003, purchased in 2003-2004.
Went to heat some leftovers, unit runs about 23 seconds then stops, does not beep when it stops. Does not heat at all. Unplugged for 2 minutes, reset clock, tried to heat again, shuts off 23 seconds. No beep when it shuts off. It will keep the correct time. It will not go into child lock mode.
Most likely cause, worth fixing or not?

- Since I am in no way a repairman for microwaves, ballpark figure on the cost of taking this to a service center for repair?Same Problem

- I have the same problem too. Runs for approx 30 seconds and then just stops and produces no heat.I'm thinking about replacing it with a toaster oven.- Guest

- it is the magnetron. to fix mine, it cost about $55 for labor plus $5 for shipping for a total of $60. the part was still covered under the 5yr warranty.- Guest
