Question about setting up a scan

I'm confused. I just received my unit. Ok, when you hit "MENU" then "SEARCH FOR.." then "SERVICE SEARCH" then for instance, "CB RADIO" a frequency shows up along with "channel 1". When I turn the scroll button it changes to different channels manually. How do I get it to scan those cb channels automatically? If I hit the "scan" button it just reverts to other stuff and doesn't scan. Thanks.

When you get to CB or whatever bank you want to search you must press the E/YES and then it should search. Also check your squelch. Hope this helps you out.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Problem no squelch noise or speaker like its muted, but can hear weather ok shows receiving and ant ok

Since the radio cannot transmit on Weather bands, there is no need for the radio to detect if it is transmitting when receiving weather.
In CB mode (on CB channels) the radio will mute when transmitting. So... a guess is that it is muting, or transmitting all the time in CB mode. Check for a mic problem by removing the Mic from the radio ... if it receives CB with no mic connected, then there is an issue with the mic. Otherwise, unless the unit is in PA mode (public address mode) it is likely something internal and beyond the scope of this service.

How to get emperor ts-5010 to transmit on 29.520 fm and receive on 29.620?

This is an "Export-Only" radio that is banned by the FCC for use in the United States. It is a violation of Title 47 U.S.C. for any "CB" radio to be coincidentally capable (or modified to be made capable) of transmitting on frequencies assigned to the Amateur Radio Service. It is also against Federal statutes for any Amateur Radio equipment to be used for communicating on frequencies assigned to the Citizens (CB) radio service.

Need a service manual need to modify a MR f55 radio to transmit on 161.600 mhz can you help?

You want to be able to transmit to the Coast Station on this frequency I assume. The Coast Guard monitors channel 16 at all times. This would be the primary channel in the United States. Your radio is VHF Marine Radio and has a built in frequency range of 156.050 MHz to 163.275 MHz. There is no need for a modification. This is a duplex frequency. What that means is you will transmit on one frequency and receive on another, while on channel 20. You will not need to transmit on 161.600. Turn your radio to channel 20. When you transmit, you will transmit on 157.000. And when the Port responds to you your radio will automatically receive their signal on 161.600. So if you are trying to figure out how to communicate with the port authorities then for that frequency turn your radio to channel 20 and you will be able to communicate with them.

Regards, Tony

I jus was wondering, can the cb radio and the handheld radio transmit on the same channel? Im a security officer and im interested in purchase a cb radio so we can use it at work but i dont know if its...

CB radios and hand-held CB radios can operate on the same channel and be in contact with each other. Other hand-held radios do not operate on the same frequencies and even though they may have channel numbers the channels have different frequencies and will not operate to CB radios.

In Thailand Cb radio users must use freq range 245.000 - 249.999 freqs. Do usa Cb's use this freq?

Thailand actually has three "CB" bands, the first is the same as the U.S. / CEPT (EU "European Community) band 26.965 - 27.405 MHz, the second is a 78MHz VHF mid CB band (I think its either 40 or 80 channels with FM mode) and then the 245.0000 - 245.9875 MHz VHF 80 channel band - apparently the law also stipulates that the 78MHz CBs must be yellow colored and the 245MHz CBs must be red colored.

But yeah, 245MHz Thailand VHF CBs are very illegal in the United States.
