You don't go into display properties; you just tell your computer to output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and another key on your keyboard; sometimes its F4...it will have a picture of a screen on it...

Looking at a blurry picture of the keyboard, it looks like the key could be F7.

So, first connect your computer to the cable and to the TV. Set the TV on the input that you are inputting to. Press FN + F7 and it will route the display from your screen to the output. If you press Fn + F7 again, it may route the display to both the screen and the TV.

Thanks and please remember to give this a thumbs up rating.

I am trying to hook my pc through the htr 3063 with an hdmi cable. I get sound but no picture can you help please. Thx in advance

To get your display to duplicate onto a TV through HDMI, here are the steps you should take. Right click on your desktop and click on "screen resolution" (or "properties" if you are not on Windows 7, then go over to the screen resolution tab). From there, select the second display. This should look like a grey'd out monitor with a number "2" on it. Set the Multiple Display option to "Duplicate the displays."

I have a Sharp LCD TV and a Toshiba Satelite laptop. I have never had any problems connecting my laptop to the tv using a vga cable. It isn't working anymore however. I checked the cables and...

I would check the video setting on your laptop. The resolution or refresh rate might have been changed and the LCD TV might not be able to process the signal. Try changing the laptop's resolution to the lowest setting(right-click on desktop and pick properties) and see if the TV produces a picture. Also verify the video output on the laptop is working by hooking it up to a computer monitor if available.

I have an IBM T40 Laptop and I wanted to display my video to the television screen via the SV output. When I hook everything up, all I see on the television is the Windows Desktop background, no icons etc....

You set it to Multiple Monitors (if you move the mouse, you will probably be able to see it on the TV once it "goes out" of the laptop desktop). You need to change output mode to external S-Video.

First of all try hitting Fn + F7 key to switch to Ext-S-Video. If it works, that's it, of course. If it doesn't, TV output is not enabled.

Right-click on the desktop to bring up the Properties, go to Settings. You'll see two monitor images there, 1 and 2.

Click Advanced, then go to Displays. You'll get CRT, TV and LCD. Turn on the TV button and tune your settings.

At this point, the hotkey Fn + F7 is enabled to cycle between LCD and TV.

If it still doesn't work and you see the blank desktop, go again in Display Properties, choose LCD as Primary Display, select Secondary, and verify that "Extend desktop on this display" is NOT checked.

hi there! first to check here is the HDMI connection, if there are okay then next to check is the desktop properties on PC. From desktop open the Display Properties and go to Settings Tab. On that window you to ensure that you are selecting Multiple Monitors on the display. set the resolution of your display to minimal ratio just to avoid some error such as Mode is not Supported.
Hope this could help.

Laptop dispalys to monitor but laptop panel cannot be activate

Hi,

Thanks for all the details..

The issue seems to be with the video card drivers here...

Go to www.hp.com/suport and download the latest video card and the chipset drivers

before you download ...uninstall the nvidia chipset or any display software from program and features.

after you have installed the software.. go to the nvidia control panel > setup multiple monitors. and browse throughout the options >
It should be dual display and not extended display.

Also try with a new user profile...

Hope this helps..

S video

Right click on an empty portion of your desktop, and go to "Properties" at the bottom.

Here you will find the display options for your computer. You will probably see that you have the option to set a new display, or add a display for use in conjunction with your current.

What you need to do is enable your second display "2", as the S-Video, so that the signal goes through to your TV, and then all should work just fine.

You may find that you need to change your resolution settings, as your tv has different dimensions and so on, but that is very easily fixed from within your display settings.

I hope that this has helped to fix your problem, good luck!
