Ibico Binding Machine User Manual/Instructions

Howdy! We bought the Ibico Ibimaster 400 Manual Binding Machine (comb & wire) and were unfortunately given the wrong manual! Now we can't figure out how to use it for wire binding (eg for calendars). I have been searching high and low for Ibico support and product info to no avail so if you could provide a link with the user manual to download, we would be truly grateful! Ta, Alex

I've just started working in a non-profit office with an Ibico Hi Tech model wire/comb binder. They can't get the wire apparently, so we're using plastic combs, fine... but having to thread the combs through the punched holes by hand!!! I'd like to fix it (in the interests of sanity). There's a place in front to open the comb but the relevant handle at the back won't budge, and the plate underneath that should move, seems stuck. Can I undo the screws and try to free it? Can't find a manual that would let me try to repair it rather than call out repairman. Can anyone help?

I bought a ibico binding machine but it didn't come with any instructions and I need to know how to use it?

I just purchased an IBICO Ibimaster 400 comb and wire binder from a failing business. It came with no manual. I figured out the plastic comb binding, but not the wire bindeing portion. Also, I would like to know the maintenance proceedures that only a manual could tell you.

    Thank you,
    Charl R.

I found the IbiMaster 400 manual!!! The key was finding out that Ibico was sold to General Binding Corp. (GBC). I went to the GBC web site and it linked me to Acco. I called Acco and they promptly sent me an old, scanned PDF of the manual. The very helpful POC at Acco was:

    Kaye.Eldridge@acco.com

To add to the above, this site has illustrations of various binders...

There are roll pins in the cutters that can shear if too much force is applied when trying to raise the cutters if the cutters are jammed. The easiest way to clear a jam is to remove the waste tray, turn the binder over and use a piece of wood to hit the cutters back. Nothing needs to be taken apart. Once they are no longer jammed and a cutter does not retract when the handle is raised, you have sheared a roll pin. Replacing a roll pin is not that difficult, but you better take some pictures as you start taking things apart so that you remember how everything goes back together...

I have an Ibico ibimaster 400e Binder which is not punching out the holes correctly.

First, clear the waste tray of all hole punchings under the machine, and check the holes where the punchings feed from for any blockages. The worst thing is the clear plastic pages you use for covers, these can block up the holes. So you may need to pick them out of the holes using tweezers.

Then try again. If you have to punch clear covers, then try to do them with just a few pages on both sides so that the plastic sheet isn't the first thing the blades hit.

Ibico 080s

ACCO Brands Corporation owns General Binding Corporation (GBC). GBC offers products under numerous brands, including Ibico. Ibico's owner's address appears to be in Switzerland

From GBC's sparse Ibico's homepage:
"Contact Us

Where can you buy Ibico Products, fill in your information and the products that you are interested in and we will send you information on the nearest Ibico dealer. "

I'd suggest just going to that page (link here) and filling out the contact info and including the specific information about the model found on this page (namely the product ID num)

.... i could be way off... but it is all i could find on google =)
