Samsung HCN4226WX has green and red ghosts very bad

Colored ghosts (red,green,blue) is convergence bad. If can't adjust from menu, then bad circuits. Call someone for approximate estimate.

The convergence board that you replaced will not correct the issue that your describing as your model has the convergence amp circuits located on the Deflection board. You would need the deflection board which is available at the following link. It also has a picture of the board which is in your model its the large board on the right with the Flyback and both Convergence ICs on it.

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. on this type of tv each gun is controled by hor.and ver. chip together. it is on the board that controls the convergence of the tv. some manufactors have recalls on problems like this. i dont know if this one does but it may. you can check with mitsub. i do know that this part is about 250.00

replace the pcb convergence board,, It costs $96 and takes 10 minutes to replace you will have to manually line up your convergence afterward as the settings go to factory default. Everyone that owns this set has or will have to replace this part within 3 years

You have a problem MOST LIKLY!!, that happens to almost if, not to all projection tube sets ever made. Its the old bad convergence IC falure. It's not something you can do unless you have had exstensive electronic training and soldering skills. There are no user replaceable parts inside of this set so please call out a pro to repalce the convergence IC for yop! A repair such as this should cost around 250 to 400 bucks, depending where you live..Good Luck
