Re: multizoning my Phillips DVD player

The same thing happened to me. To fix, follow the instructions below. 1. Turn your machine on. 2 Press Setup on the remote. 3. Press Preference. 4. Type on remote 9653. The use arrow keys to select Region "0". 5. Then click OK and the machine should now recognise multiple region zone DVDs.

Try using the password 136900. If this works for you, then using your remote, access the general setup menu and choose the Disc Unlock option.

My dvd player freezes when I view rental/bought movies

Is the player new? If it's a new DVD player and still under warranty, I would return it, exchange it or possibly, consider changing brands: perhaps to a Phillips brand DVD player. After all, the Phillips corporation guarantees its DVD players will play everything, just read the box in which the player's packaged - it's the best bang for your buck. With DVD players being so inexpensive these days, the best option is to buy new. Keep computing Chomskyites.

Video freezes playing burnt dvd from computer on a dvd player

dvd players are finiky things they do not like burnt dvd's at all and some will just lock up computers on the other hand can handel those because burnt dvd's are in a coding format that computers can read much easier than a dvd player your best bet is to just buy the dvd non burned and see if that fixes it. good luck and If you ever need anymore help with electronics questions pleases dont hesitate to ask me at
thanks and good luck

Multizone code

icon_minipost.gifRegion code hack posted by Tiger1, May 24 2007:

Hi I live in Australia and added this model.

acknowledging: Region code hack posted by ZoidsGodzilla, November 22 2006: for the Samsung DVD-V5600

1. Press the DVD button on your remote (the Samsung logo appears)
2. Press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
3. With your remote enter the code: 76884
4. The current region is displayed on the top left corner of the screen. (e.g. 4)
5. Press 9 on your remote (Region free)
6. Again press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
7. Enjoy the Region free player

If your player is NOT Region 4 by default then you will need to Substitute the Numbers in Step 3 with the ones Below.

Region codes:
RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 )
RC 3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2
RC 4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4
RC 5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4
RC 6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2

For Example if your Player was Purchased in the usa ( Which is Region 1) then Step 3 would read :-

3. With your remote enter the code: 129334

Have Fun :0)

Sound dubbing seems off

Is this only on some movies? Look to see in your options is you have and decoder settings. What audio format do you prefer, DTS or Dolby?
Sometimes you may get a unit in which the decoder is faulty. If you have warranty options, first use those to get you a new unit.
