Question about Brother Multi-Function Center MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer
I don't know exactly what I did but I felt around for the foil and pressed it against the printer head and kept my fingers crossed. Then the printer went through the cleaning process and, lo and behold, I now have a printed sheet of paper. Brother's website and owner's manual have NO trouble shooting guide worth using!
Thnaks for the fix!

With my printer, model mfc 665cw, it's really hard to access the encoder strip because it's blocked. I managed to find it by gently running my fingers where the paper jam had occurred and I found it. I applied alittle pressure all the way across the strip to move it down in place. The printer went into a cleaning mode and began to work properly again. Thanks (mix-it-up) for the heads up that that was the problem.

The CR encoder strip is not in position. Its the encoder strip which gives the printhead the position. It runs upon the printhead (a small foil strip). BTW this happens quite often because the jammed paper lifts the strip out of position. You ve to open the printer and simply put the encoder strip right into its rail between the senor upon the printhead again.
