Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Similar problem as you helped me solve before.

OK, I think I see the problem there.
The aerial lead from the DVDR to TV should be removed.
You should have it setup the same as the other Freeview - VCR - TV
Nutshell time:
Main aerial to Freeview input.
Loop aerial from freeview output to DVDR areial input (all this does is allow you to watch freeview, or standard both out of the DVDR)
So..
Scart from Freeview to DVDR input
Scart from DVDR output to TV
Set DVDR to AV input mode.
Set TV to AV (whatever number you need for that..you now won't get anything on screen unless you have the right input selected)

If you can now see the Freeview picture on the TV and change the channels with the Freeview remote then you should be set for recording.

Having the aerial and a scart lead both going to the TV is not needed.

SET YOUR TO RF LEVEL " LOW" OR YOUR CABLE CONNECTION IS WRONG CHECK IT.IF THE PROBLEM REMAINS, CHECK IT ON STANDARD DEFINITION TV FOR RECORDING.IF THE PROGRAM RECORDS OK THEN IT ID NOT COMPITIBLE FOR DIGITAL SIGNALS. BUT IF NO RECORDINGS PERFORM CHECK THE VIDEO HEAD CLOGGINGS OR MAY BE MAIN "IC" PROBLEM.

SOURCE: taping to vhs from digital cable

You do not need to leave the TV on. To get the clearest picture you should connect the AV cables (yellow, white, red) from the cable box to the VCR, and from the VCR to the TV. There should be a setting on both the TV and the VCR to set the input to VIDEO so you don't have to use channel 3. You can shut the TV off while recording if you want. Also be careful because if you use the channel guide or info button while recording, it will show up on the tape.

SOURCE: Quazar Model VHQ520/VHQ540 cannot record after inst Digital Conv

You need to set the vcr to channel 3 or 4 (whatever channel the digital converter box is set to broadcast on) to record a program. The digital converter box has to be set to the channel you want to record the show from.

SOURCE: How do I record a tv program with a Sharp A400

Your VCR is no longer capable of recording "off air" tv signals. All tv stations are now broadcasting in digital format, your VCR is analog only. You can however get a digital converter box that will receive "off air" digital signals and convert them for recording on your VCR. CLICKING HERE will give you all the information you need to hook up the converter box... Good Luck!

SHARP TU-TV162H, ICON SAYS DISC NOT PRESENT, BUT IT HAS BEEN WORKING WELL FOR YEARS. WHAT HAS GONE WRONG?

When a disc is placed in the machine the lazer reads the disc. However if dirt has got in the way it will not see any disc at all. You should follow the instructions for cleaning the lens of the player. See if that corrects it.

My sharp TU-TV162H SAYS THERE IS NO HARD DRIVE, THERE HAS BEEN NO TROUBLE FOR THE SEVERAL YEARS THAT WE HAVE HAD IT. AS SUCH, WE CANNOT GET THE LIBRARY OR RECORD ANYTHING. HAS ANY ONE GOT ANY IDEAS?

Sad to say that hard drives do fail and when they do that's it. There is often a diagnostic test on the mechanism that will see if there is something up with the hard drive. You can try that if available. One possibility is that the power to the hard drive has failed. In which case the disc itself will still have everything on it. You just need to restore power to it.
Hard drives are just like the ones found on computers, if it has failed completely you can remove the old one and search for just like it.

I have a sharp TU-T2HR32 freeview+HD recorder and cant remember by parental guidence pin, how do i re-set it?

Full procedure should be in the instruction manual under a likely heading of "Resetting PIN"
If you've lost the manual go to Sharps websitre and follow the usually easy steps to view your TV's manual online. It may also be possible to download and print it too.

Hi, I have a Samsung HR720 DVD-TV recorder and since we have gone digital the quality of the picture recorded is blurry. I have checked the back of the recorder and it doesn't appear to be any option...

Hi, Check the settings in the TV menu. Set the sharpness abit higher. Also if you have already you need a set top box (PVR) to view digital signal and to record it as well. Good luck.

Sharp TU-TV322H failing to make planned recordings

I had this problem aswell! I tried everything but ended up phoneing the help line, when they asked for what frequancies they found out i was picking up different ones form two different stations. I took the ariel out of the back on the freeview box and run a scan for channels (of course it came up with none as the ariel is unpluged but it overwirites and clears the incorect frequencies). Then plug the areil back into the freeview box and run a scan for channels. After doing this i picked up the correct frequencines form the correct station and my recordings actually recorded! If you phone the help line (08444159159) they will tell you what frequencies you should be picking up. I hope this qorkes for you!

New TV won't ''talk to'' old VCR

using the magnovox remote, reprogram the vcr's channels. set it up to use cable not air. when the vcr was unlugged it lost it's channel memory. don't buy new cables, you're getting a picture and sound so that means your rca cables are ok.
