I did not see a rebuild kit. However, you can email them and ask about one. Worst case you can individually order the O Ring and other parts.

SOURCE: my makita an451 roof nailer

Nailers that use strips of nails (one nail directly behind the other) will sometimes drive two nails at once and is caused by damage to the driver. The nails are so close together that the driver will hit the first and part of the second nail head. Coil nailers, as your an451, use nails seperated by welded wire making it very difficult the the driver to hit the second nail. Usually when a coil nailer shoots two nails, it is acutally the trigger valve that acutates twice (two very rapid fires). Two very rapid fires is caused by faulty trigger valve. I have seen a roofing coil nailer fire one nail and a second nail drops out of the gun. Caused by weak / malfunction of nail feeder or wire used to weld nails together is too thick.

The spring is necessary for the head to reset - check your reassembly to make sure the parts are in the proper order and direction - make sure the piston stop in the firing valve is snapped into the head before you reassemble the gun - the head valve shouldn't fall out when you open the head.

Framer not firing

If it leaks at all times then an o-ring/seal is most likely failed. If it only leaks when you try and shoot the gun then it could be a stuck head valve or a jammed nail. Here is a parts diagram so you can see the items and part numbers that make up the trigger should you decide to try and repair it yourself. If available it is usually best to buy a complete o-ring kit and do them all.

My makita an451 roof nailer keeps shooting 2 nails I've tried 2 different brands of nails

I found the solution to the double shooting happens when the retainer ring on the feeder paw inside half of the coil nail holder. Part #92 (962112-6) retainer ring R-22. I found the clips broken in two of my guns. Now they work great.

Bostich N88rh fires like a machine gun

You either have a piston stop bumper failure or some damaged orings. Look on the schematic and the piston stop bumper is number 11, part #107236. A lot of times the piston stop bumper will disintergrate due to becoming brittle from the compressed air and not having enough lubrication. Look for small plastic balls in the head under the valve. If you see little plastic pieces than that is what remains of the piston stop bumper. You will need to remove the valve from the head cap in order to inspect the bumper. Also inspect all orings. The slightest damage can have big effects. One other thing to look for is damage to the plastic valve that rides on 3 orings. (2 out and 1 in) I don't believe you have valve damage because you say it is firing like a machine gun. This is almost always the piston stop bumper.

PORTER CABLE FR350 FRAMING NAILER RAPID FIRES

I have seen this problem on several brands of nailers. The solution in most cases was to make sure headvalve orings are sealing correctly. Here is a simple test. Remove the head and place on workbench with gasket surface facing up. Push headvalve all the way in with your thumbs then cover the vent hole with finger and release thumb pressure to headvalve. Vacuum should keep headvalve down untill you release finger at vent-hole. If vacuum does not hold, remove headvalve and examine surfaces for fine scratches and/ or make sure of correct size orings (headvalve should be very snug). Remove scratches with extra fine paper (300-400 grit). If headvalve holds, remove headvalve piston and piston stop. With headvalve spring removed, push piston stop into headvalve and make sure that the piston stop fits snuggly into piston. Also make sure piston stop is not damaged or cracked. A loose fitting piston stop will cause multi-fire. Replace as necessary. Upon re-assembly, lube all rubber parts with plenty of silicone lube (not oil, wipe clean all parts before lubing). Silicone paste/grease is sold at Lowes in the plumbing department (Danco Brand). Good luck and email if you have other questions about this gun.

Nails jam by sending 2 nails at once

You can find a parts list at the following address:
http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/makita/AN451

Rebuild kit # 192393-0 (search ebay for lowest price) will usually fix your problem. But for immediate/ temp fix try adjusting the depth thumb screw all the way down or all the way up and lower the pressure a little. Sometimes it helps to put the firing pin in a different position. I believe that fine scratches on the oring contact surfaces in the headvalve actually cause this problem. Before you install the rebuild kit, examine headvalve parts with magnifying lens and sand fine scratches with 300 - 400 grit sandpaper. Lube orings in the headvalve with silicone paste (Danco brand sold at Lowes in the plumbing department) it will help get a good seal. For best results replace the headvalve springs. I do not believe that they come in the kit. Good Luck with the repair.
