Question about ViewSonic N2201W 22 in. LCD TV TV/DVD Combo
DVD doesn't work accepts dvd then says loading... then says disk error and spits disk out...
Hey scowtz, if your dvd is a burned copy or has other file formats that are not the most common, or I should say, basic types then it most likely will not play it. TV/DVD Combo's are made with the most basic formats. If you want to play burned copies I suggest get a dvd player and look for the formats that it plays. Usually the format label is printed on the front of the dvd player. However, if your dvd is an original that you bought from a store and it still does not play it, then its an OEM issue. Meaning you need to return it / send it for warranty / or get a replacement. I hate to say it but these dvd players built in to the tv are not the greatest and very basic so the manufactures do not put much effort in building a good quality ones. (This is only an opinion but I use to work at a home theatre dept. at a major electronic store that I probably should not disclose and these issues were common). Get the stand alone dvd players, some are quite cheap and play wide variety of formats and are actually pretty solid players. I hope this helps. Give me a feedback if this does not help. Good luck.

Testimonial: "I'm putting in original box sets... I have bought Thanks for the timely response. The set was bought for my studio so the combination was ideal for someone like myself who had to fit it into a tight area with little fuss in setting it up. Lots of original DVD (out of box only) viewing. so no burned copies... (I wouldn't know how to do that anyway!) I am now wondering at the cost of repair for this... as today the cost between repair and buying new is a draw... again thank you for your time and response!"
