What does that mean? doesn't regulate like before? it is common to trip the check valve with a new tank because the over-fill prevention device float displaced the liquid in the cylinder which causes vaporized propane to hit the check valve too hard. the tank thinks it is leaking and shuits down gas flow so it is difficult or impossible to cook. reset the check valve by turning everything off. disconnect tank at regulator. turn grill valves on high, all of them. count to 100. turn the valves completely off. re attach the cylinder at the regulator. turn tank valve to turn on but very, very slow for the first full 360 degrees so the gas can only seep-through slowly. we do not want the gas to rush out and hit the check valve too hard.

Coleman propane stove, tank got very cold. why?

as propane is used it can create frost on the tank or just cause the tank to feel cold. this is normal. this will be worse when the tank is almost empty.

Regulators on propane Grills

I've heard allot of times "My regulator on my grill is bad", as a general rule regulators can and most the time outlast the grill itself. Most problems withare caused by the regulator getting plugged, When you remove the hose from the propane tank cover it to prevent anything from getting in the hose, Same thing applies if you take the hose off of the regulator cover the hose end and the regulator inlet this will keep most problems like the regulator getting plugged from starting.

Genesis Silver B Grill: grill won't heat past 350 or so. put a new regulat...

An odd thing with many propane gas grills is how the regulator functions. If the tank is opened too fast the regulator over-adjusts and delivers no gas. Try this: Turn tank off and open all burner controls. This should clear the line of any gas. Close burner controls and open tank very slow. Now lite and temp should go up.

Weber Spirit one month old...went out, changed tank, won't light

The regulator that comes with Weber grills shuts the gas flow off if it detects the slightest leak. Disconnect the tank an reconnect. Check connections with soapy water for any leaks. Another problem, though uncommon for a new grill is a defective regulator. You have a 1 year warrenty on your grill so contact Weber if you continue to have problems.

My propane ank is full, but when I turn it on high, the flame is barely lit. When I change it from high to low and back to high, the flame level never changes.

First disconnect tank. Hook back up and open very slowly. These new valves on tanks have a shut down if you open valve to fast, causing tank valve to think it is leaking, it slows down flow of propane. Always open tank valve slow when turning on grill. If this does not solve problem then regulator is going bad and need to be replaced.

Jenn Air grill burners only lite on one side

It could be a bad regulator but, highly unlikely . Check your air shutters at the end of the burner tubes and adust them properly. And if you have a OPD propane tank you maybe turning it on to quick causing the check valve inside the gas valve to open half way. Try opening the valve slowly.

My grill won't light, and I don't hear gas running

sounds like a problem with tank valve. Try attaching back to grill. Open valve slowly, if you open to fast valve thinks it is leaking and shuts down. If this doesnt work try a differant tank, buy always open slowly.

My weber gas grill will not heat up past 300F

Hi John,

I just experienced the same exact problem ! I just bought a brand new Weber E-310 a 3 burner grill.
After I seasoned it up with cooking oil,I turned all the burners to high, opened the tank and clicked electrnic button several times , the grill was on then I went inside, I came out about an half-hour later and it was saying around 275 degrees..
I looked into my manual and there is a gas limit control valve that shuts down gas flow, when it thinks there is too much gas flow.

Sloution;
Turn the propane gas knob to off
Turn the gas grill knobs to Off.
Click the igniter several times to clear out any gas.
Then unscrew the regulator from the tank,( I then blew into the tank hole and regulator),
Screw back on the regulator to the propane tank.
I then clicked igniter again couple of times.
Now open your propane tank.
Then turn on front burner while clicking igniter, this will lite 1st burner.
Then turn 2nd burner on low then to high.
And if you have 3rd burner or more, turn low then to high!

John I did this and my grill went to 600 plus in a few minutes!!

The problem was turning the gas grill knobs on first then opening the tank then lighting...
You have to open propane tank with knobs off, THEN AS SOON AS YOU TURN ON 1ST KNOB, YOU MUST IGNITE ...

Can't get propane heater to lite

Not enough information to solve the problem correctly but I'll take a guess at it......

This heater requires a 100lb propane tank (approx. 25gal) with 1/2" or larger piping to deliver the correct volume of gas to the heater. If you are using a smaller tank (like a 10gal) or the piping is not the correct size you will not get enough gas to the heater to light the pilot. Also you should have a regulator set at 11" to 14" of water column installed between the tank and the heater. If the tank is connected directly to the heater you may have damaged the internal regulator in the heater.
