Sherwood ax 3030r

Hey, The right channel on my Sherwood ax 3030r has given out, occasionally it will kick in once I try re-connecting my speakers, However it never lasts long. I was curious if this is something I can fix at home, being dust or maybe a minor electrical problem with a connection?

SOURCE: Sherwood AI5010 no sound from either channel

Hi There DEKCAT
Its very unusual for both channels to blow......

I suspect that there is a blown power fuse inside the case......

There are fuses sometime located on the outside rear of the case and these can be easily checked to determine if they are blown..If you find one is blown please replace with the corrrect rated fuse,..... its current rating wil be on a small label on the case outside rear. like 1.0amp, or 1.5amp etc...

If you need to go inside the case please ensure the power plug is removed from the wall socket first.

You will find small glass fuses in the DC power supply feeds and probably one of these has blown, once again replace with the correct rated fuse.

Im not sure if your amplifier is a FET type or a large 32-40 pin IC type as if these are blown you will need a service person to do the replacement...

Please note there is a small relay that clicks 20seconds after turn on at the switch....if this click is not happening then there is problems with the timer circuit or the relay itself...

This relay controls the output to the speakers and as such stops all the sound output if its not working...so the first thing is to check all fuses, if they are OK then check the Relay operations....

Cheers From YUBEUT

SOURCE: technics turntable plays but no sound with Sherwood receiver

The problem is the fact that the new receiver has no phono input. The phono input has an extra stage of amplification built in. Your receiver is working fine. You need to purchase a phono pre-amp. These run around $20. Connect the turntable to the preamp and the presmp output to any line level input on your new receiver and everything will work as expected.

SOURCE: I have a Fisher RS-717 stereo receiver, amplifier.

Yes you can use either A or B without a problem. The restriction is when you have both A & B connected. In that case, the speakers MUST be a minimum of 8 Ohm impedence. Using either A or B, you can use speakers of 4 Ohms impedence.

My sherwood rx 4109 has no sound what do i do

Pull the sherwood power cord from the wall for 20 minutes. On the back of sherwood, check all cables and make sure they are in the correct places. Check speaker wires and make sure they are connected. 1)After 20 minutes, turn power on to sherwood. 2) select an input (radio, cd, etc.) 3) Push play. 4) Turn volume to desired level.

Sherwood AX-4103 amp keeps clicking

Hello there.... Check your speaker wires and then if that doesn't do it? try replacing the fuses on the back of the amp.. make sure power is turned off and unplugged. If that doesn't work? Try one speaker at a time ... something is causing the system to short out. Hopefully it is not internally

Sherwood AX-4050R Amp - faulty RCA inputs

It is rare for the actual input connectors to fail. More likely, either the solder connections need to be re-flowed, or the switching IC is defective. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins of the RCA connectors. Look closely at them and see if the PC board trace is broken. If the resoldering fails to resolve the problem, look for a switching IC with about 28 pins. It may be marked TC9163 or something similar. That will be the audio switching IC. I would change that next.

Ahh, that channel is blown. Its not 100% blown. This has happened to my freind before, and from my long knowlage in audio, the channel is blown, and is not fixable. If you REALLY are attached to it, you could probably bring it to a shop that fixes receivers, but best bet is to let it go

Can I hook the reciever to mm bose subwoofer and 5

if bose unit has built in amplifier .Then your sherwood would have to have a variable RCA output jacks in order to work with sub. Then bose audio input RCA cable would connect there. If bose unit does not have built in amp .Then you would connect sherwood left/right speaker outputs into bose left/right inputs .Then other bose speakers will connect to bose unit

Something doesn't sound right. The standby circuit is usually very simple. The "regulator" is just a transistor. Can you request and post the parts that he/she can't find. I should be able to get you a source or substitutes.

FM Tuner in Sherwood RX-4105 stopped working

Check your antenna connections. Make sure your FM antenna is hooked up to the FM antenna terminal or jack on your Sherwood receiver. If you have the antenna hooked through the coaxial cable, check your coaxial cable with an ohmmeter for continuity. You can buy a volt-ohm meter as little as $12. Usually bad connection occur between coaxial cable and the the coax cable connectors. If that doesn't solve the problem, then there may be something wrong with your tuner card inside of your Sherwood receiver.

If you receivers display does not change channels or frequencies or AM or FM mode, when you try to change the channel or frequencies, or AM or FM mode, there may be something wrong with the front board of your receiver.

If there is something internally wrong your Sherwood receiver, you need to take it to a qualified technician that can fix it. Do not try to repair it yourself. If you don't know what you're doing, you can do far more damage to that Sherwood receiver to the point that would be very costly to repair.

Before you take your Sherwood receiver to a technician, try to unplug the receiver, and leave it unplugged for several minutes, and then plug it back in. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you need to take your Sherwood to a qualified technician.

you may be using an equalizer? try to pop-up the volume with all tone controls in flat mode. see if it still cuts off. if this is the first time youencounter this then something must be wroing with either your speakers or your amp. unless your ventilation is not good enoughg, you can also try placing a blower on top of your unit to cool it down
