Question about Casio Watches

1 Answer

Wrong date and time

I have a casio g-shock gw300 and the date is incorrect and a few minutes fast (likely due to the date being wrong). I have the correct time zone selected (NYC). I also noticed I am not receiving a signal. This just happened a week or so ago. Any thoughts?

I have tried manually receiveing the signal and still not luck. I have also tried most of the suggestions but none of them have an issue with the date. I think the issue is a receiving error of some kinda. Any idea on how to address not receiving a signal?

When was the last time you replaced the battery? It might need a new battery.

Thank you,

Marcelo

SOURCE: Casio Wave Captor Watch wont set to correct time.

You need to manually adjust or set the hands to the home position as they are not where the watch thinks they should be. This can happen when you bring your watch close to a strong magnetic field. Look in the manual to do this. Afterwards your watch should set to the correct time.

I have a copy of the manual in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF) and it has the instructions you want -- but they are too long to for me to quote here plus there are illustrations involved. Casio GW300 (2608) battery replacement

Hey all. The charge provided by the solar cells on the watch only really extend the life of the battery. The total run time of a battery depends on how the watch is used... backlight requirements etc. The battery will be depleted and need to be replaced.

Here is a site that has good instructions on how to change the battery in your G-Shock watch.

If you want to ensure you still have a the same water resistance rating, I do suggest that you take it to a watch guy to have it replaced for you. They clean switch contacts also and you keep water resistance rating. Good Luck and vote this as a "FixYa". Cheers

Graeme
