What dose the T back button do for the cobra 29 lx cb radio

That usually is for "Talk Back". When you speak into the microphone you should hear yourself in the speaker.

I can hear people talk but they can't hear me I have a cobra29 nwst what should by settings be at

Set the switches to: 1) S/RF, 2) OFF, 3) CB, 4) HI and 5) NOR. You may change any of these to any desired position except for the CB / PA switch. This switch must remain in the CB position to transmit "over the air" - whereas the PA selection simply sends the audio to the PA jack on the rear of the radio to an external, Public Address speaker and the WX position is to select Weather Band radio reception. It is not possible to transmit on the Weather Band channels.

Choose a channel and set the squelch to MIN and Volume to a comfortable level (you can increase the Squelch slowly just until the speak shuts off if you don't want to hear static sounds). Dynamike and RF Gain both should be set to MAX. Delta tune should normally be left at the mid point. The Dimmer and SWR/CAL knobs should be set to any position you like.

Make sure you have a properly tuned 27 Mhz CB antenna connected to the back of the radio. You should review the Calibrate for SWR procedure in the manual - SWR of 1.5:1 or less are ideal, and those greater than 2:1 are bad. SWR of 2.5:1 and up may damage the radio if left unfixed. Check this list of articles of how to tune a CB antenna if you have more questions about this very important subject.

You should download & review the manual . I hope this helps

When keying up i hear a ecko coming out of box click sound

This usualy says that there may be a break in the Mic. wiring. To find this out sometimes if the break is at one end or the other you can try while keying up und speaking into mic. wiggle the wires at the plug or where the cord comes out of the bottom of the mic.
Sometkimes the cord can be cut and re-soldered or, replace it regardless. The latter may save you the same problem down the road..........HAVE FUN ! !

Hi take over

Sounds like you may have a defective radio and may need to send it back. I had the same problem with mine but was out of warranty so i dove in and found mine to be the low voltage transmit circuit.
This sounds like it may be to new to remove the covers off of though so I would allow midland fix it. hope I helped .

Thanks Ray
