I have a brinks US PAT 5746075 lock that will not open. I followed the instructions with the resetting of it with the little lever on the back. I put the new code in it and put the lever back.

There are actually YouTube videos on how to get in faster, but without any special knowledge, you can try all 9,999 combinations in less than half an hour. Just sit down with it next time you're watching TV and try 0001, then 0002, and so on, pulling on the shackle each time. You don't even have to look at it most of the time. It will open eventually!

I forgot the combo for my Kryptonite bike lock US PAT 593412/6422051, can you please help? Thank you

Another way is to pull apart the ends till you have tension on the tumblers. As you place tension try to turn the tumblers. As you feel each loose or tight tumbler is how you can find your combination. I open this type of combination lock like this all the time. First look for the tightest tumbler, turn it until it feels looser and next look or feel for the next tight tumbler. All the tumblers do not block the release at once. You are looking for the first tumbler to adjust, the tightest one, then the next, continuing until you find you have released all the tumblers. This has worked for me with any brand of inline tumbler release system out there. Good luck, usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to find the code. This method can be used on regular locks with a changeable combination as well. It will just take a little time to get to know how much tension to use as you go through each tumbler. Similar as to how you pick a regular lock system. Good luck, definitely doable.

How do you use a brinks mechanical timer 42-1020? I have figured out what all parts are just don't understand how to use the pins??

Brinks 42-1020 is analog timer with 48 segments (pins) located around edge of dial.
Each segment (pin) represents 15 minutes in 24 hour day.
Segments on this timer push down and outward.

Hi, I have a Brink's Safe model #5059. Actually it was my husbands and he just passed away. Unfortunately, I don't know where the key or the combination. I need to get a key to open this. Can you...

Brinks will not help you with this, but you should be able to get into the safe if you call a locksmith. Brinks use a really cheap lock tumbler on models similar to yours and it's easy to pick for a skilled locksmith. So easy, in fact, that you really won't want to use that safe again as it's really an unsafe...

You can watch an example of how easy it is by clicking here.

Safe open but in locked position

I can't tell you how to set a new combination, without you having a tumbler key.
BUT I can tell you how to figure out the old combination.
First remove any armoured plate that covers the back and unscrew the cover plate. You will see wheels with slots cut in them. These are the tumblers. Now just like you know what the numbers are rotate the dial three times counter clockwise...then looking in through the back cover , slowly turn the dial clockwise ... look for the tumbler that is turning and stop where the slot lines up with the drop arm. Now look on the dial and write that number down. Now start on the second number by turning the dial counter clockwise until the second tumbler is lined up with drop arm. and so on

With a little patience you will figure it out.

I hope this helps you.. If you have any questions please ask.
Good Luck,

Brinks fire resistant safe model 5059 instruction manual

To bad you dismantled. Here is the turning sequence:
General Turning Sequence Instruction NOTE SAFE MODEL 5054/5055/5059/5080/5081/5084/5111/5190/5195/5575/5700/5702.

Combinations consist of FOUR (4) positions (numbers).
BEFORE YOU START
Before you begin, please clear all settings by turning the dial CLOCKWISE (to the right)
three times. We also recommend to try the procedure with your safe door open first. Then
follow these steps:
TURNING SEQUENCE
1. Start the dial on 0 (zero).
2. Turn the dial to the RIGHT, passing your first combination number FOUR (4)
times and stopping at that number on the fifth time around.
3. Turn the dial to the LEFT, passing your second combination number TWO (2)
times and stopping at that number the third time around.
4. Turn the dial to the RIGHT, passing your third combination number ONE (1) time
and stopping at that number the second time around.
5. Turn the dial to the LEFT, to the last combination number and STOP.
6. Insert the key in the cylinder lock and turn RIGHT to open.
Your safe should now be opened.
