I locked myself out of my laptop how do i unlock it

Wow, another person locked out. LOL. Ok which password? The Bios Password? The Hard Drive Password? The Windows User Account Login Password? And for which Operating System?

If it's the hard drive password you're out of luck because that is set to keep thieves from gaining access to sensitive data. 99% of the time when you see a laptop where the user does not know the hard drive password, it's a stolen laptop.
The Bios Password and the Windows User Account Login Password can be cracked or allow you into the system, however if you're running Windows 7 and you forgot the Windows User Account Login Password, you will need the Password Reset Disk otherwise you'll have to reload your operating system.

Grandma locked her Sylvania notebook and doesnt know the password she set. is there a way to reset it?

Yes there is a way! There are certain software that can crack the password of locked computer. Just type "Windows password cracking software" in www.Google.com and you would find a long list of software. I believe some of these software are for free and others charge money. Download the one which suites you follow the instructions and you will able to crack the password of the computer.

My lenovo x61 is locked, it doesn't boot. when it on it shoes me a lock & ask the password, I don't know the password, please help me what am i want to do.

There is a list of common backdoor passwords for BIOS locks here. If these do not work you may need to seek help at your local computer repair facility, as cracking these passwords is either extremely difficult, or involves dissasembling the machine.

How to crack passwords

You can create a Windows password cracker disk to reset your password. Follow this 5 easy steps:

1. Enter a computer that can link to Internet. Search "windows password recovery tool 3.0" in Google. Download and install the software on that computer.

2. Run the software and create windows password reset disk by follow the instructions.

3. Eject the created CD/DVD and insert it into the locked computer.

4. Reboot the locked computer (it's necessary for you to change your locked computer's BIOS setting to make it boot from CD drive) and then follow the instructions to reset password.

5. Now login Windows and set a new password.

My laptop is an acer computer and i forgot my password and locked myself out.

Please clarify, What is the Operating System installed on the computer? The password reset or recovery depends on the operating system installed. Please let me know, whether it's windows xp or windows vista or windows 7. Windows xp's password reset method will be the easiest, while windows vista's and windows 7's are more or less similar, only with different tools.

Thanks and awaiting.

I locked myself out of my labtop and i dont know the password to get back in it

Here's how to reset your password:
  1. First reboot Windows XP in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeatedly as the computer starts up.
  2. Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes, of course)
  3. You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrators account and will be able to reset the lost password.
  4. Just click the administrators user account (or the target user's account), and then click Reset Password. You will need to add a new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and confirm by clicking OK.
  5. All done, you have recovered the lost password
Hope you'll have it resolved soon :-)

I locked myself out of my computer by trying to keep someone else off of it and now i can't get back on

Hopefully you have another Admin account to unlock your account. If not, you'll have to attempt to use some password cracking software. If this is Windows 7, I don't think it'll work. If it's XP, it should.

I locked myself out of my computer by forgetting my password and can't get back on. I downloaded some files to a jumpdrive but it doesnt help. And it doesn't take cd's. what should i do

HI

HERE IS THE SOLUTION
BUT ITS SOME WHAT DIFFICULT
IF YOU DO IT CAREFULLY YOU SCORE.....

  1. Step 1 Log on to your computer on another account. This account need not have administrator privileges. If you can't get into any of the accounts on your computer and get to the web, you will have to use a second machine.
  2. Step 2 Determine whether your computer has EFS files or not. If none of the computer's users have encrypted any files, or you have Windows XP Homemag-glass_10x10.gif, you don't.
  3. Step 3 Download and burn to CD a copy of a system cracking tool. (You will, of course, only use this software on a machine you own or at the request of the machine's owner.)

If you have EFS files, you should use a tool that is EFS safe, such as Windows Password recovery system. If you do not have EFS files, you can either use an EFS safe option above, or use one of several other password cracking utilities, such as
Petter Nordahl-Hagen's Offline NT Password & Registry Editor, SpotMau Password Finder, or Openwall's John the Ripper (a free version is available) Password Kit.
  4. Step 4 Put the cracking disk in your computer and reboot.
  5. Step 5 Change your administrator password according to the directions that came with your cracking software.
WARNINGS

  • If you export your public and private key for EFS first, along with the keys for the Recovery Agent user, you can use any of the various utilities above to reset your password safely.
  • Warning: If you have EFS files and use a tool that is not safe for them, those files will become unreadable and you will not be able to recover them.

  • HOPE YOU SUCCESSFULLY DO....
