Sony's wireless function for older models is not compatible with some hardware from what I understand.

To solve your probelem we would need the model number of the Sony Blueray DVD player.

Check CNET Samsung forum. There are several posts with the same problem. A couple solutions and basic confirmation that Samsungs newest fireware is bad. I wish their support helpdesk would realize that instead of telling me to contact my router support.

SOURCE: Trying to connect to sony blu-ray wireless where

Certain routers will not have a wps button on it...
You can go for the next options in your bluray...
You will have options to enter network key...(this is wireless network password)
Or you can configure using PIN number...(an 8 digit number printed at the bottom of wireless router)

But if u configured using wps or pin number, then the wireless settings on your router will get sync with bluray player... All your other wireless devices like laptops and iphones and gaming system will lose their connectivity to the wireless router...
so it is advisable to type the security password of your router in bluray player...

I have a Samsung Blu-ray DVD player with a network in it that has Netflix etc. How do i connect it to Netflix on my computer?

If You have WiFi go into settings, go to network config. you will have options Ethernet, and WiFi! You need to set it to wifi! if you don't have wifi, then you will need an Ethernet cable hooked up to the back of player which go's to your internet modem, or router.

When someone else logs onto the internet, it disconnects my blu-ray player from the internet, until they log back off

I personally had a similar situation and I don't know if this will apply to you but when I was connected to my router wirelessly and not hard wired this would happen to me. I had to hook my blu ray player up to the router with an ethernet cable directly and all three computers in the house that are used regularly also. Then when somebody want's to come over and use there laptop through the wireless connection there is no problem. Im not sure if u have other connection options maybe you have the option to hookup your router to blueray player through usb connecton. Try different hookup combinations. You will figure it out. Good Luck.

You would connect an ethernet cable between the bluray player and wireless router. If the wireless router is too far away you would need a Sharp PLC adaptor

It probably is your router that is the problem.
Disconnect its AC power, and reconnect it, to "reset" the router.

Also, try connecting your Blu-Ray player directly to your cable-modem (or DSL-modem), bypassing your router. Turn the modem off, and then turn on, and then turn your Blu-Ray player on, and it should be able to connect to the Internet (and NetFlix).

Try a different router.

No connection/ no signal

Either the new BlueRay player is defective, the HDMI port on the player is defective, or the port on your set is defective.

Try connecting it with component RGB/AV cables, or S-Video/AV cables and see if everything works. If so, then you know that it is either the port on the BlueRay, or the port on the TV set.

To test the HDMI port on your TV, you will need another HDMI device to try.
