Noise is a relative thing. If it's bumping, clanking and sounds like it's tearing itself apart...That's a bad thing!

If however it's resetting itself with the shuttle mogating back to its home position and the feed arms returning inside for the next page...That's normal.

How do I clear error message that says to close the finisher output guide?

The finisher output guide is usually a small plastic piece about as long as the paper feed that can be opened to see the rollers, make sure that is put back down before you print.

Why is Printer displaying "PLS change to printer screen", "Offline"

Could be the paper full tab is "stuck up" at the exit, or at least unplug the finisher from the unit and cycle power, pull away and see if it prints. -Carl

Hello, when it prints it makes a noise and bottom of page is smeared

Smeared output can result when you re-feed a printed page into the printer to make a double-sided page. This happens because the rubber rollers that grip the paper to pull it into the printer can pick up toner from the first side’s printing and smear it. So before replacing parts, this is an easy thing to check. Printing multiple pages consecutively will make the pages print progressively cleaner or you can clean the rollers with rubbing alcohol.

Smeared toner also happens because the nonstick coating on the fusing roller is scratched or has baked-on debris. This can happen if the printer is in a dirty environment especially. If you are comfortable removing the fuser, you can try to clean it with a soft cloth and alcohol, but make sure you let it cool down first!

Finally, if this does not resolve your issue then make sure the fuser is heating; toner that is not heated properly will fall from the page and smear. If the thermostat is bad or the fuser not working properly, you will most likely need to replace the entire fuser assembly. This will be pretty expensive to repair so hopefully it's one of those other issues.

As for the noise, there are several complex gear and roller segments that drive the paper between the paper tray, the scanner, the fuser, and the finisher. If these are not perfectly aligned or dirty the printer can make a grinding noise. It's even possible that if the paper is not being fed correctly, that the shift might leave segments of it less accessible to the fuser and prevent the toner from adhering to the page.

But I would try using WD-40 to lubricate some of these components and assume the noise and the smearing are separate issues.

Paper jam and message C570 - Call for service

The C570 is a communication error between the finisher and the main unit. Check to make sure the connector from the finisher to the copier is plugged in properly.
You could try re-seating connectors on the finisher board - it may help.
Make sure the power supply to the copier is not being shared with some other piece of equipment (like on a power strip) that could be causing interference/noise to the power supply for the copier.
If problem persists..could be bad IPC board(finisher) or CPU board (copier).
Hope this helps

Paper jams at finisher when making multiple copies. Using 20 lb. paper. Any suggestions? Copier is Panasonic Workio DP-4510 with detached finisher.

first try to eliminate the finisher. turn off main power switch and unplug from the power outlet. Now unplug the finisher cable from the rear of the copier, then slide the finisher out of the way. Check to see if you still are having jamming issues. if not then yes the issue is with the exit of the paper or the finisher.
Many possibilities try to narrow it down.
Good Luck

The printer is indicating that the finisher tray is full and to remove all paper. But there is no paper on the finisher tray. This is causing the printer not to print.

I wish you told the model number. But when that happens, what has happened is this.
In the finisher tray there would be a flag type actuator that sticks out into the paper path after the paper enters the tray. It has fallen off or has become stuck deactuating the sensor, ( turning it off).
Although there is no paper in the finisher tray, with that sensor flag out of position and the sensor off,it thinks there is paper there.
