Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goodluck!

3 (6c + 5) + 2 (c + 4) now multiply into the brackets

= 18c + 15 + 2c + 8 now gather like terms

= 20c + 23 and that's it

You should keep your hard earned money and try to learn to do math. Maybe you will find it rewarding.

To convert a value to fractional form, use the >Frac function, accessible as the first item in the Math menu. Press MATH 1.

The R at the top of screen reminds you that angle unit is in Radians. The MATH says that the Input/Output mode is MathIO. In this IO mode, fractions are stacked (2levels) as in textbooks.. The R setting should not bother you unless you are doing trigonometry problems (in which case set the appropriate angle unit). The MathIO
allows you to do exact calculations with fractions and radicals. Beside
you can always convert fractions ad radicals to decimals.

As to the f(x)=, I believe you have changed the computational setting from COMP (usual) to TABLE. In table mode you supply a function and the calculator generates a table of values.

To recover the normal mode COMP, press MODE and select COMP (should be the choice 0:COMP).

The Ti83/84PLUS are a lot more advanced than the TI-30XA because thaeu can graphs, statistics, calculus etc. But they lack a key for the % function, and a key for the fraction manipulation, the angle unit conversions (deg, radians, et grads) and they are a lot more expensive than the TI30XA.

Before your daughter finishes high school, you will eventually have to buy her a graphing calculator but right now a TI83/84Plus calculator seems like overkill. Besides some teachers may not let students have graphing calculators during exams.

Honestly I suggest you buy the TI-30XA Solar version. There are some new nifty calculators manufactured by Casio (Casio FX-115ES, FX-991ES, FX-300ES), Sharp (El-506W, 516W ). The beautiful thing about these new kinds of calculators is that you can configure them to use the Textbook display: equations and expressions can be entered as they would appear in textbooks. The Casios are called Natural Display and the Sharps are know as WriteView models.

In fairness to Texas Instruments, they too have calculators that incorporate that display format but I do not know the exact model numbers (maybe TI34XII multiview).

Maybe your syntax is incorrect. But more likely, it gives the right answer but you do not recognize.

Look on the narrow indicator band on top of the screen. If there is a Math indicator you are in MthIO (textbook display). In this mode results are in the form of radicals

SQRT(76) =2*SQRT(19) Here SQRT represents the radical (square root symbol).

If there is no Math indicator, your calculator is in LineIO and all results are in decimal form so that SQRT(76) =8.717797887

To set MthIO press [SHIFT][MODE][1:MthIO]

To set LineIO press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO]

To toggle between radicals/fractions to decimal press [S<=>D] key above the [DEL] key.

The directory is like a "table of contents" in a printed textbook.

If a child's crayons have been used to overwrite those pages, making them unreadable, then the table of contents cannot be used to locate the starting page-number of a specific chapter. So, one must read through the whole textbook, page-by-page, looking & trying to recognize the start of a chapter, and then the end of the chapter.

Similarly, there exist "file-recovery" computer software programs that do such "linear" reading of the entire ZIP disk, and trying to reconstruct the "file-structure" that was recorded in the "disk-directory".

Search for "file scavenger" software, and give it a try.
